Taking a moment to reflect now that summer is over…at least according to the calendar. This beautiful property being featured on the 2022 American Hydrangea Society Garden Tour was definitely a highlight. From creating the original landscape concept to seeing this project thru it’s been incredible to see the evolution of this property over the last ten years!

Hydrangea alert! If your Hydrangeas are looking like mine with lots of new growth: Forecast cold temperatures Friday and Saturday nights will be low enough to freeze tender new growth and flower buds on Hydrangea Macrophyllas (Traditional Big Leaf Hydrangeas…Endless Summer and other cultivars). Most Paniculata varieties (Little Lime, Limelight, etc) and Arbroescens (Annabelle, Incrediball, etc) are less susceptible to freezing unless they are showing significant new growth. Cover plants with old sheets or frost blankets and secure them tightly to the ground to prevent covers from blowing off. You’ll be happy you made the effort when your Hydrangeas are blooming this season!
