We are seeking an experienced carpenter to join our team.

Wardell & Harper is a build-design company focusing on remodeling, restoration, and additions, including whole house renovations, and high-end kitchen and baths. We are committed to setting a standard of clear communication and transparency in an industry historically lacking in both. Our job sites are clean, our crews are respectful, and our work is without compromise.

The ideal candidate will have a minumim of 3-5 years of on-the-job experience, preferably as a working foreman.

Job duties will include:
Running projects under the supervision of our Project Manager
Reading and understanding blueprints
Assisting with daily project scheduling
Managing a team of carpenters with various levels of experience
Forecasting material needs
Coordinating and supporting subcontractors on site

Thanks to all involved for another successful Trades Fair yesterday, this time at Bow High School. Students learned about the many career opportunities the trades have to offer. A special thanks to some of the vendors who have come with us to every event:

Recent State legislation has made it easier for homeowners residing in single-family zoning districts throughout New Hampshire to build “accessory dwelling units”, commonly known as ADU’s. Historically, these come in the form of a small addition or renovated space above a garage or basement. However, the definition of an acceptable ADU has now evolved to include detached structures as well as up to two ADU’s.
This action by the State is one step in addressing New Hampshire’s housing challenges and allows for easier access to multi-generational and communal living.

It’s a Friday shoutout to the two John’s in our company!
John Rettew has been with us for nearly 6 years and spent his first four years painting and has been with our carpentry team for the past two years. His attention to detail and passion to learn new things make him an essential member of the team.
John Davis also comes from a background in painting but has, in the past year spent time with our carpentry team and more recently, with our floor refinishing company. His professionalism, positive attitude and desire to grow has made him a great fit.
We’re fortunate to get to work with great people. We’re also committed to doing everything we can to retain them and offer opportunities to grow.

After two really positive experiences hosting a construction-focused careers fair at both Hopkinton High School and Kearsarge Regional High School, we'll be hosting another event this Spring in Bow.
The event will be hosted at Bow High School in the gymnasium on May 22nd from 9:30-1:30. While the event will be hosted in Bow, students from any and all school districts are welcome. Surrounding districts will be notified and will present the opportunity to their own students as they see fit.
We'll have another great group of local companies including Grappone, Weaver Brothers, North Branch, Cedar Mill Group, Irish Electric and many more!
This is a great opportunity for students to not only learn about the viability and opportunity that these careers paths offer, but to also speak directly with companies about employment opportunities. Not to mention, we always have some great raffle prizes available!

A very exciting announcement for our whole company! Looking forward on integrating this new service into our existing operations.

We are happy to announce some exciting news for the future of Konopka Floor Sanding. The business is now officially under the new ownership of Chris Wardell from Wardell & Harper. Chris and Larry are thrilled to continue working together to build upon the fantastic business and reputation that Larry has created over the last 40+ years. You’ll still see Larry out on job sites or running sales calls as both parties seek to provide clients with a seamless transition and give clients the same expectation of quality on every job. We look forward to providing clients with that same level of service for many years to come!

A successful Trades Fair this past week at Kearsarge High. Over 100 students and 15 local construction companies were in attendance. Grateful to get to work with this group educating the next generation.

Really happy to be organizing another construction-focused careers fair this year. The event this November will be held at Kearsarge High School and will host 20 local business representing a variety of different trade groups. While the event itself will be hosted at Kearsarge High, students from any district are invited to attend at any time throughout the 1-5p timeframe.

Some neat before and after pictures of a recent project in concord. The work was only in 3 rooms but there was an incredible amount of prep work involved including wallpaper removal, plaster repair and sanding stained woodwork. The team really did an amazing job on this one!
