Maggert Lawn Care, Formally Vandiver Lawn Care, was taken over in June of 2013 from Mason and Kelly Vandiver who pursued other dreams and endeavors of their own. They now operate Higginsville Feed and Lawn in Higginsville, MO. (Formally STG Rental) Maggert Lawn Care specializes in mowing and trimming, but offers shrub trimming, leaf clean-up, w**d control, lawn seeding, light tree trimming, snow r

I have mowed for Vandiver Lawn Care for two years mowing and trimming about every type of yard imaginable. Before that, as a high school and college student, I mowed with my brother; most of the yard's which I have taken back over from VLC. I work full time as a Firefighter/EMT and luckily have a schedule that makes me available 3-4 days a week to own and operate my own lawn service.

Please bear with us this Memorial Day weekend!

We’re working hard to get everyone taken care of in a timely manner so your lawns are looking great for the holiday weekend — while still trying to enjoy a little time with our own families as well.

We strive to provide the best service possible at every property, but with 3 out of the last 5 days bringing rain, we’re trying to squeeze nearly a full week of work into just a couple days.

Sometimes that means mistakes happen. If we miss something or do something a little goofy while rushing to stay caught up, we sincerely apologize and promise we’ll make it right on the following mow.

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience, support, and understanding as we work through the weather delays.

Started the year off by putting down a fresh 1” mulch refresh for one of our commercial clients! (We are a little behind on posting!)

It’s definitely been a challenge getting all these yards sprayed this year with the constant wind and rain!

That being said, we’re excited to announce the addition of another spray and fertilizer machine to the fleet! This will allow us to add another spray tech this fall and help us get to all of our properties in a more timely manner.

We’re looking to add a reliable, hardworking team member to our crew for the upcoming season!

Position: Part-Time / Seasonal lawn maintenance

What You’ll Do:

Mowing residential & commercial properties

Trimming and edging

Blowing off hard surfaces

Assisting with landscaping and other outdoor projects

What We’re Looking For:

Dependable and shows up on time

Willing to work outdoors in all conditions

Positive attitude and team-oriented

Ability to lift, walk, and work for extended periods

Experience is a plus, but not required (we’ll train the right person)

We’ve been getting a lot of calls and messages asking when we’ll be out spraying for w**ds—or if we’ve already been there.

If you’re on one of our programs, don’t worry—you’re on the schedule!

Unfortunately, everyone can’t be first, but we’re working our way through as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We know those pesky dandelions are already out in full force. With the early spring this year, they showed up about 2–3 weeks ahead of normal, and we’re seeing it everywhere.

Rest assured—we’re coming, and those w**ds don’t stand a chance.

A quick reminder: we can’t spray in windy conditions due to state regulations, and our applications require proper dry time to be effective. That means we have to wait for the right weather windows to make sure you’re getting the best results possible.

We switched things up pretty quick this year… felt like we went from winter to fake spring, back to winter, and now into early spring!

At MLC, we take a lot of pride in our equipment… maybe even a little too much (yeah, we’ll admit the OCD 😅).

After winter operations, everything gets the full treatment:

✔️ Thorough wash down
✔️ Salt removal with Salt-Away to neutralize corrosion
✔️ Fluid Film applied to protect against rust
✔️ Electrical components cleaned and protected
✔️ All grease zerks serviced

We don’t just park equipment—we reset it.

Everything gets cleaned, serviced, protected, and put back in its place as we transition into spring and summer operations.

That same attention to detail is what we bring to every property we take care of.

We wrapped up our first round of fertilizer late last week, and we’re excited to already be seeing our properties get a jump start on the season.

While we truly appreciate every property we care for, these are a few of our favorite ones to help keep looking their best.

We have very limited availability left for 4-step and 6-step programs, so if you’ve been thinking about getting on the schedule, now is the time to reach out.

We will still be accepting additional spray-only clients, but those properties will be serviced after our signed program customers.
