Equipment Spotlight: VHS Motor

Our team is setting a water-lubricated vertical turbine pump designed to run with a Vertical Hollow Shaft (VHS) motor.

VHS motors are commonly used with deep well turbine pumps. The hollow-shaft design allows the pump shaft to pass through the motor, while the motor is built to handle the thrust created by the pumping system.

A look at one of the systems that keeps water moving from below ground to where it’s needed.

No two wells are the same, so we don’t expect every repair job to be either.

Sometimes the job goes exactly as planned. Sometimes it doesn’t.

When that happens, experience matters. Our crews figure out what will work, make the adjustment, and keep the project moving. The goal isn’t to do it the same way every time- it’s to do it the right way for that well.

What a week! 🇺🇸💧

TWUA Annual School 2026 in Waco was one to remember! From inspiring speakers and well-deserved awards to an incredible Casino Night, we had an amazing time celebrating and connecting with so many people in the Texas water industry.

One of the most memorable moments was welcoming, our guest of honor, WWII veteran Ken Baker. His speech was truly inspiring, and it was wonderful to see so many people take the time to meet him and thank him for his service.

It was also great seeing everyone sporting their AWWTec hats as they made their way into Casino Night! Seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones is always one of the best parts of these events.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, as well as the sponsors, and organizers who helped make the week such a success. We appreciate all of the hard work that goes into making this event possible.

Waco, we’re on our way! 🇺🇸

We’ll be at TWUA Annual School July 28–30 at the Waco Convention Center, and we can’t wait to see everyone.

Our entire AWWTec team will be there (plus a few extra faces), so be sure to stop by and say hello!

We’re especially excited for Casino Night on July 29—an America-themed celebration of America’s 250th with food, beverages, and casino games. It’s going to be a great time!

We’ve got a full schedule ahead, and we’re looking forward to every stop along the way.

First up is TWUA Central Texas Regional School in Killeen at the Killeen Civic Center, where we’re proud to sponsor the kegs for the Dart and Co****le Tournament on June 9th at 5:00 PM.

From there, we’ll head to the ARCIT Regional Conference in Pampa at the M.K. Brown Memorial Auditorium & Civic Center, where we’re partnering with Giant Maintenance & Restoration to sponsor the Networking Mixer on June 17th at 6:00 PM.

We’ll wrap up the month at the AWBD Annual Conference at the Ga***rd Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine. Be on the look out for us at booths 1146 & 1245.

One of the best parts of these events is the opportunity to catch up with industry friends, make new connections, and hear what’s happening across the communities we serve. If you’ll be attending any of these conferences, we’d love the opportunity to visit with you. Here’s to a great month ahead!

Safety Day 2026 ⛑️

This day is always a great reminder that learning life-saving skills can still be hands-on, engaging, and a lot of fun. Huge thank you to Adventure CPR for spending the day with our team teaching bleed control, tourniquet application, splinting, and other important emergency response skills. Also a big thank you to KOA San Antonio for always hosting us for these company safety trainings.

We’re proud that our entire company took part in this training and invested time into continuing to build a strong safety culture. We wrapped the day up with some raffle prize giveaways and a lot of great memories. Appreciate everyone who helped make it a success!

Great turnout, great conversations, and an all around great week at TWUA NCTRS 2026. We always enjoy getting to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones along the way.

A big congratulations to the winners of Shawn’s canvas print raffle giveaway during lunch — we hope y’all enjoy them!
