Demo day on this front porch 💥🔨
Before any demo starts, you’ve got to think through the structure.
This porch was supporting part of the roof, so the first step wasn’t tearing anything out—it was temporary bracing. Anytime a roof ties into a porch, the first job is catching that load. Temporary posts go in where the rafters or beam carry weight so everything stays exactly where it’s supposed to while the old comes out.
And it actually reminded me of Nehemiah. Before he rebuilt the wall, he didn’t just grab tools and start swinging—he walked the ruins at night, inspecting every weak point 🧱👀. He needed to see what was broken, what needed support, and what needed to be cleared out. God had him slow down before He sped things up. And that’s real life, too. Sometimes God shows us the “ruins” in our own lives—habits, attitudes, places we’ve ignored—so we can brace what needs bracing and remove what needs to go. The inspection comes before the restoration 🙏🏽✨.
Once everything is supported, then the demo can start. Slow, steady, intentional.
Demo is messy, but it’s always the start of something better.
More to come on the rebuild 👀🏡
