Big things are happening in downtown Gainesboro.

The future Cordell Hotel is starting to take shape, and we’re proud to be part of bringing this historic building back to life. Projects like this don’t just restore a building, they help create jobs, bring new visitors to town, support local businesses, and breathe new life into Main Street.

We’ve heard some discussion about contractors on the project. While large renovations often require a mix of specialized trades from different areas, there are also local companies and local craftsmen involved in making this vision a reality. We are honored that IOM Plumbing was selected as part of the team.

As a locally owned and operated Upper Cumberland company, seeing investment come into our small towns is something we fully support. The finished product is going to be something the community can be proud of for generations.

We’re excited to continue doing our part and look forward to watching the transformation unfold.

9:00 PM to 1:00 AM.

Most people never see this side of the plumbing trade.

Tonight’s emergency call had us standing in several inches of backed-up grease, food waste, sludge, and everything else that had collected in these commercial kitchen drains. We spent hours running cables, pulling blockages, and working elbow-deep in the mess to get this customer back up and running.

By the time we finished, the boots, pants, socks, shirts, and even the underwear were completely soaked. Covered in grease and drain water from head to toe.

Thankfully, we keep extra clothes at the office and have a shower available. Sometimes that’s the difference between going home miserable and going home clean.

The drains are flowing, the customer can open for business, and another emergency is handled.

Now it’s time to get a few hours of sleep and do it all over again in the morning.

This is the part of the job nobody posts about. But it’s the part that matters.

UNDERGROUND UTILITIES COMPLETE

Another new construction project moving forward!

Our crew recently completed the installation of the underground sewer service and main water service for this new home. From the building drain all the way to the utility connections, every line was carefully laid, graded, tested, and prepared for years of reliable service.

A lot of what makes a home function is buried underground and never seen again, but it’s some of the most important work in the entire construction process. Proper slope, correct fittings, quality materials, and attention to detail today help prevent costly problems tomorrow.

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country and the freedoms we enjoy every day. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a time to honor sacrifice, courage, and the families who continue to carry that weight.

There’s nothing better than feeding people who spend their lives pouring into others.

This week, we had the honor of serving the incredible faculty and staff at Jackson County Middle School for Teacher Appreciation Week. We fired up the smoker, cooked the BBQ, and brought the sides and desserts because these teachers, assistants, and staff members deserve more than just a quick “thank you.” They deserve to be appreciated in a real way.

At IOM Plumbing, we believe in supporting the communities that support our kids every single day. Thank you to JCMS for everything you do for students, families, and this county. We were proud to be a small part of your week.

Another tankless disaster fixed the right way by IOM Plumbing 🚨

This exterior mounted tankless water heater froze, busted, and left the homeowner without reliable hot water. After inspecting the setup, we removed the damaged unit and installed a brand new Rinnai system while correcting the issues that caused the failure in the first place.

We also addressed the vulnerable exterior exposure and made sure the new installation was protected and built for long-term performance. Clean install, reliable operation, and peace of mind going forward.

Major Sewer Line Replacement + Full Bathroom Remodel - at The Marina

This one was a big one.

We were called out for ongoing sewer issues, backups, and failing piping. After getting into it, we found the main 4” sewer line had to go - along with multiple problem areas underneath the bathrooms.

What we did:
• Full demo of existing flooring and failed system
• Removed and replaced the main 4” sewer line
• Reworked drainage the right way (no shortcuts, no backwards fittings)
• Opened floors and accessed plumbing properly to eliminate future issues
• Rebuilt and prepped everything for long-term reliability
• Finished out with a clean, updated bathroom remodel

From rotted subfloor and failing lines…
