Why is cleaning a deck important? First off, wood expands and contracts, allowing dirt and debris to get in between. Debris can trap more dirt and leaves in there causing the deck to retain water and begin to rot. Simple cleaning and maintaining of a deck can keep a deck looking great for many years to come.
