A huge shoutout to our interns for volunteering their time at the Central Texas Food Bank. Together with fellow volunteers, they helped pack an incredible 22,540 meals for delivery to seniors in their local community.

Even more impressive, their volunteer shift reportedly set a record for the most meals packed during a single shift. Great work, team!

We are pleased to announce a significant milestone at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with the successful installation of all 49 beams for the Taxiway P Bridge.

The Taxiway N&P Bridges represent only the second aircraft-rated bridges constructed in Texas, engineered to support a Boeing 777-300ER with a maximum takeoff weight of 775,000 pounds. These structures account for a 30% impact factor and braking forces, and they have been designed with an additional 25% load capacity to accommodate future generations of heavier aircraft.

The I-35E Phase 2 team recently took a well-deserved break to celebrate a major milestone and the people behind it.

The field day was a chance to step away from the job and recognize the hard work that has gone into getting the project to this point. As the team heads into the final phases of the project, the event served as a reminder that success is built by dedicated people working toward a common goal.

The Equipment Department hosted its annual family cookout at the Ledbetter Yard on Saturday, May 9, bringing employees and their families together for an afternoon of fun and community.

Events like the Ledbetter Yard family cookout reflect Austin Industries’ commitment to employee-ownership by recognizing that our people—and the families who support them—are central to everything we do.

Last Friday, the 635/80 project hosted a lunch celebration to finish Construction Safety Week.

Crews came in to enjoy tacos, axe throwing games, football games, connect four with basketballs—and a dunk tank. A live band filled the atmosphere with great music.

Thanks to everyone for their diligence in elevating safety expertise, so that Austin can protect what matters most: making sure every EO goes home safety.

Established in 1989, STEP provides contractors and suppliers with a robust, no-cost framework for measuring health and safety data and benchmarking with peers in the industry.

The Cooke 1 I-35 reconstruction project reached substantial completion—and Gainesville celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Thursday held in conjunction with the city’s Medal of Honor celebrations.

Austin’s Cooke 1 crew enjoyed the privilege of shaking hands with multiple Medal of Honor recipients. Multiple news organizations attended with photographers and camera operators.

The project was delivered as a joint venture between Austin and Zachry. It fully reconstructed 7.5 miles of I-35 main lanes and frontage roads and reached substantial completion on March 4, 2026.

Congratulations on achieving such a significant milestone on this five-year long project!
