Last Friday, the 635/80 project hosted a lunch celebration to finish Construction Safety Week.

Crews came in to enjoy tacos, axe throwing games, football games, connect four with basketballs—and a dunk tank. A live band filled the atmosphere with great music.

Thanks to everyone for their diligence in elevating safety expertise, so that Austin can protect what matters most: making sure every EO goes home safety.

Construction Safety Week in action at our DFW project. Our team partnered with DFW Fire & Rescue for hands-on fire safety and confined space rescue training.

Established in 1989, STEP provides contractors and suppliers with a robust, no-cost framework for measuring health and safety data and benchmarking with peers in the industry.

The Cooke 1 I-35 reconstruction project reached substantial completion—and Gainesville celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Thursday held in conjunction with the city’s Medal of Honor celebrations.

Austin’s Cooke 1 crew enjoyed the privilege of shaking hands with multiple Medal of Honor recipients. Multiple news organizations attended with photographers and camera operators.

The project was delivered as a joint venture between Austin and Zachry. It fully reconstructed 7.5 miles of I-35 main lanes and frontage roads and reached substantial completion on March 4, 2026.

Congratulations on achieving such a significant milestone on this five-year long project!

Easter sprang into the ABR Coppell office!

Last Friday, employee-owners were invited to hunt for easter eggs (with prizes) hidden around the building.

Last Friday, the Austin Bridge & Road Coppell office hosted a Chili Cook-Off!

Employee-owners were invited to submit homemade chili entries. Prizes were given out for three categories: Best Overall Chili, Most Creative, and Spiciest.

Austin Asphalt, in partnership with the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TXAPA), hosted an open industry training event on January 28–29 at Circle R Ranch in Flower Mound, Texas.

The two‑day program focused on core best practices, delivered by leading industry experts, to help agencies and companies achieve the highest-quality paving operations possible.
