Got Grubs?

As we are getting into the early stages of summer, we wanted to make that our clients are educated on grub prevention.

Grubs are the larval stage of beetles, and can cause significant damage to your lawn in the late sumer if not identified and acted on now.

Signs you have grubs:
- Your lawn develops dead turf
- The grass starts to feel unusually soft when you walk on it.
- Has been dug up by raccoons, moles, birds, etc.

Got mushrooms in your yard? Don’t panic, it’s a good thing.

Mushrooms grow in organic matter, so when you see them in your lawn it means that your soil profile has organic material in it, which is a GOOD thing.

Unfortunately, there is no treatment to get rid of them, but they will go away on its own.

In some cases, people will take a pitchfork and manually aerate the areas where the mushrooms are to allow air into the ground.
You can also add an aeration to your lawn care plan.

Ascochyta leaf blight fungus is back!

Over the past three decades, we have experienced nearly annual occurrences of the Ascochyta leaf blight fungus.

This fungus reveals itself after the tires of a fertilizer machine or anything with wheels (sometimes even footprints) pass over the lawn.

Not to worry, this fungus will go away on its own within 2-4 weeks!

As always, if you have any questions about the fungus or you think you may have it please let us know and we can assist you accordingly.
