We designed and built this home on the east side of the Bitterroot Valley in 2019. This house uses a hybrid timber frame where the clients decided against doing a full timber frame and opted for bringing the Timbers into the main living areas. All these Timbers are structural. The siding on the outside of the house and barn as well as the trim package uses the side cut from the logs that were milled for the timber package.

Here are some photos of 2020s project. Working with the general contractor Yellowstone Traditions out of Bozeman we have been responsible for all of the visible wood on the project. From the Lodgepole log work to the reclaimed siding and trims it's been a huge amount of work and a great partnership. Thanks to all the guys on the team!

Because R 50 wasn't quite enough insulation in the roof we ordered in another fluffy layer from Mother Nature! That was fun and everything but man I'm glad it's drip drip dripping away into springtime

Behind the Lee Metcalf visitors center sits this Cotton Wood log and Larch beam/rafter shelter we did in 2010 or so. Hand raised it with a crew of volunteers, Thanks to Friends of Lee Metcalf

Box beam job from 3 years ago. We had the barn boards ,which were fairly premium, planed and straight lined. If you miter the corners along the length of the beams and them crush them down with a metal bar they can really turn out good. The last one is bunk beds downstairs

Here's going way back! This was my inlaws house that they sold a couple of years ago and just this past summer a guy stopped by the shop and asked if I would come look at a timberframe house that he wanted to add a front porch onto. I said sure and asked him what the address was and sure enough we were back up there putting on a porch that we had talked about doing many times back in the day. Small valley! Hopefull OSHA doesn't check up on us here.

With the roof on, windows in and a nice cozy Rockwool continuous exterior insulation in place the house is ready for cooler weather. The neighbor called and said she liked the color the client picked for the place :) I'll put up some pictures of the actual siding here soon
