THERE IS NO IDENTITY CRISIS HERE: I was a youth pastor, a factory worker, an advertising promotions company owner, a pro-life activist, a heckler (at a Walter Mondale rally), an inventor, a 4-time Republican Congressional candidate, a homeschool pioneer and father of ten, a ministry founder, a radio host (very brief-I got fired), a two time book author, a Master Cabin builder with over 80 pre-Civil War barn and cabin restorations to my credit, a Sunday school teacher, played saxophone for decades on church praise teams, and pretty much got in trouble with numerous authority figures in my life. If I got my IDENTITY from what I did I would be missing the point and very confused. I AM A SINNER, SAVED BY GRACE, A CHILD OF THE MOST HIGH, AND A SERVANT FOREVER OF MY SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!

33 years ago Lori & I bought 82 acres in the hopes that a rural lifestyle would instill a valuable work ethic in our ten children. It worked. In fact, it changed all of us! Less than a decade later I closed my ad agency, laced up my work boots, and started Bailey Construction Company. My primary motivation for this career change was clear and simple - “work with your kids EVERYDAY “. That experience was AMAZING! Now, 25 years later, I have the incredible blessing of working with my grandchildren on actual work sites. Jimmy is 12 and Tina is 14. And I am a proud grandfather. (OMB & Lori have 25 grandchildren and counting.)

I AM GREATLY HONORED TO BE INVOLVED IN A WORK THAT SAVES AND RESTORES AMERICAN HISTORY. HOW COOL IS THAT?! But - I am also passionate about saving and reviving our American Christian culture. This early 1800s fireplace was central in every pioneer home. It was the place where the family gathered, where they broke bread together, and where they invited their friends and neighbors over to share, eat, and tell stories. That is called HOSPITALITY. I just spent nearly four months in Tennessee building a cabin. I attended church every Sunday and went to a weekly bible study at the church. I did not receive one invite to any church members home - that’s sad. Let’s bring back HOSPITALITY!

WHO WANTS TO SAVE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF 1800s LOG HOMES AND BARNS? The way to save our American history is not through historical societies or through rich people hiring companies like mine that do historical restoration. The path must be through CONVINCING THOUSANDS OF REGULAR PEOPLE TO BUILD THEIR OWN HOME USING BARNS AND CABINS FROM THE PIONEER ERA. God can grant you wisdom, safety, and success in this endeavor, you just have to proceed in faith, determination, and perseverance.

14th WEEK UPDATE: I AM DONE WITH MY PART ON THIS AMAZING 1805 CABIN MOVED FROM INDIANA TO TENNESSEE! This week I finished the inside chinking, built a loft, started the porch, and oversaw the addition wood being put on. It was such an honor to do this job!
