I'm not endorsing this website by any means, nor have I read all of these tips. There are more than a few that caught my eye here we likely all neglect. Minutes of work that could save you a lot in repairs.

We sell a lot of bath fan replacement motors. Almost all because they have never been cleaned. It may take a small ladder and a vacuum but unless your grill painted to the ceiling this is about a 3 minute job. Most of the fan units also unplug and with a couple of screws can be safely removed for a more thorough cleaning.

COVID-19 UPDATE (as of 3/17/2020)
Hanks Electrical Supply will remain (Physically) open locally as an exemption by "essential services".
Please be patient as we all try and work through this.
We will have reduced (store) hours & staff effective 03/18/20 and would appreciate your cooperation by limiting the amount of people you bring into our shop to one person, maintaining social distances and other precautions. If you are experiencing symptoms please stay at home. We will be operating under these conditions at least until March 31st. Please stop and read all posted signage before coming into our shop.

Please call ahead, make sure we are open, have what you need and we'll do our best to have it ready to get you in & out of here as quick as possible.

This should not prevent any of our eCommerce, however there might be some unforeseen delays in communications and delivery.

If full closure is deemed necessary, we will post contact information and make someone available for emergency and appointment only services.

I'm a little late, but we get this call every year when people start hanging their Christmas lights. This is called a su***de cord. That's all I googled to find this image. It's called that for a reason, don't do it. If you don't know why, it's because it's very dangerous as the name suggests.
