Tile. An artistic material used to express your personality within a given space. Do not be afraid to go bold! When a design is thoughtfully laid out and you are able to visualize it prior to committing, there is peace of mind.

I personally love how the tile mimics a wallpaper effect in some of these photos.

My dad used to be a Forman for a framing company back in the day. Ash and I grew up with my dad taking us on job sites to check progress. Meanwhile my dad worked we would play in between the walls on the job sites, run up and down the stairs when homes were in the beginning stages of being framed. Fast forward 25 years later here we are building a home together. Never in a million years did I think this would be possible. The smell of lumber brings me to my childhood and how we’ve come full circle.

If it wasn’t for my mom and dads guidances I wouldn’t have purchased a home nor would I have imagined building a home.

Beyond thankful for my foundation.. my mom and dad. All your hard work and sacrifice to see your two daughters live out their American Dream!

Pre-planning: noting allll details. And there are many from site prep, to demo, to electrical and plumbing, finishes and beyond!

The evolution of this 1920’s bathroom:

1. Create ventilation - the window was painted shut 🫣 causing built up moisture
2. The moisture created cracks in the plaster so we had to repair
3. We removed the existing tile and floated the floor and walls with cement to create a perfectly straight surface prior to laying tile - extra labor but totally worth it
4. We extended the original arch near the vanity to accommodate the new 30” console sink (see next post) 😍
5. Our client went with a traditional 4 x 4 polished tile baseboard to stay true to the homes era/ architectural style
6. Trim materials are from the Purist line

Stay tuned for the final reveal with lighting fixtures, medicine cabinet and cabinetry. This one is turning out so lovely!
