I am aware of a large local electrical service company that is telling people they need hard wired smoke detectors added in existing homes and other what I would call major falsehoods in order to scare people into paying big bucks to install them. This is NOT true (of the smoke detectors). If you get into a situation where someone is pressuring you to make an expensive purchase, please call your city inspection department to ask for clarification. Or feel free to call us at 651-302-7599 and I will show you what the fire, building, and electrical codes say.

Also, if you have had or encounter an experience like that, please report them to your local city building department and the Minnesota Dept. Of Labor and Industry. There is NO place for these kind of sales tactics in our industry...you know who you are, so straighten up! I am watching...
