Did You know May Is National Electrical Safety Month???

Here are a few Spring Tips....

Water and Electric Don't Mix
Electricity that comes in contact with water can result in electrocution. DO NOT use electrical power around damp areas including wet grass.
***Never use electric equipment if your hands or feet are wet or on a wet surface.
***Protect yourself from electrical shock by using Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFI's) in kitchen and bathroom outlets where water and electricity may come into contact.
***Avoid using a hair dryer around sinks and bathtubs.
***Have a qualified electrician inspect electrical equipment that has gotten wet before energizing it.
***If working in damp locations, inspect electric cords and equipment to ensure that they are in good condition and free of defects, and use a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
***Outdoor receptacles must have covers that keep them dry even when appliances are plugged into them.
***Electrical appliances, equipment, and cords should be kept at least 6 feet away from the water. When possible, use battery operated appliances and equipment, such as televisions, radios, and stereos.
