This is why routine HVAC maintenance matters! 🚨

During this maintenance visit, we found the outdoor coil heavily clogged with dirt and debris, restricting the airflow the system needs to operate efficiently.

We gave the coil a thorough cleaning and changed out a bad capacitor while we were there. Now the system is cleaned up, serviced, and running like it should. ❄️💨

A little preventative maintenance can go a long way toward improving efficiency, reducing strain on your system, and catching small problems before they turn into expensive repairs.

🔊 Tip Tuesday: Strange HVAC Noises

Your HVAC system should be relatively quiet. If you suddenly start hearing unusual noises, don’t ignore them—they’re often your system’s way of telling you something isn’t right.

Here are a few sounds to watch for and what it could possibly mean:
• Banging – Loose or broken internal parts
• Squealing – Worn belt or motor bearing
• Grinding – Motor or blower problems
• Hissing – Possible refrigerant leak or air leak
• Rattling – Loose panels, screws, or debris

The sooner you have a strange noise checked, the better your chances of preventing a much larger (and more expensive) repair.

One of the most common questions we get is:

“If I turn my thermostat way down, will my house cool faster?” 🤔

The short answer is no.

➡️ As a general rule of thumb, most air conditioning systems are designed to maintain about a 20° difference between the outdoor temperature and your indoor temperature under normal conditions.

For example:
☀️ If it’s 90° outside, most systems can comfortably maintain around 70° inside.

Trying to cool your home to 65° on a 90° day usually won’t make it cool any faster. It simply means your system may run much longer trying to reach a temperature it wasn’t designed to maintain under those conditions.

Every home and every system is a little different, but keeping realistic expectations during the hottest part of the summer can help your system perform its best while keeping you comfortable.
