💚 Contest Winner Announcement 💚

We are honored to announce this year's winner: Raymond, Alicia, & Baby Rider Yeagley.

Over the past year, their family has faced a journey that no family should ever have to endure. Their precious two-year-old daughter, Rider, is courageously battling medulloblastoma, with tumors in both her brain and spine. After being misdiagnosed for four months, Rider was finally taken to UVA, where doctors discovered two brain tumors—one the size of a baseball that was mostly removed through surgery, and another that remains inoperable.

Since then, Rider has undergone multiple brain surgeries, including the placement of a shunt, and continues to receive intensive chemotherapy. The effects of both her illness and treatment have been heartbreaking, causing her to lose the ability to walk, talk, and eat on her own. Through her determination and the amazing therapy team at UVA, she has recently reached the incredible milestone of sitting up by herself again.

For nearly a year, Raymond and Alicia lived away from home while Rider received lifesaving treatment. Even now that they're back home, they make the trip to UVA one to three times every week for chemotherapy, blood work, MRIs, and follow-up appointments. Raymond has only recently been able to return to work part-time, while Alicia lovingly provides around-the-clock care for Rider.

Through every challenge, they have shown unwavering faith, strength, and love for their daughter.

We hope that taking lawn care off their list of responsibilities will provide one less thing to worry about and allow them to spend even more precious time focused on Rider and her recovery.

Description: Grass Wackers seeks a Lawn Care Technician to perform land care maintenance services on client properties.

Responsibilities:
• Report to Shop to review the day’s work with Lead
• Prep Trucks & Equipment
• Follow Inventory Procedures
• Openly receive training for field needs, safety, equipment, technique, etc.
• Operations, quality control, punctuality, and safety
• Performing landscape and maintenance tasks on client properties
• Perform work contracted to be implemented efficiently and according to the contracted specifications
• Perform maintenance of lawns & gardens, and cleanups
• Perform all tasks of operations including but not limited to mowing, line trimming, blowing, leaf and debris removal, weeding, edging, hedging, raking and mulch installation
• Proper use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment and ergonomic practices
• Address questions or concerns with the clients by forwarding them onto the Foreman. Communicate customer opportunities immediately with the client's Account Representative
• Fill out work orders.
• Complete all job site reports and report all sales opportunities
• Unloading/loading equipment and materials
• Wash dirty equipment {including all mower decks} and return to approved storage location. Report damaged or broken equipment to management immediately.
• Fill trucks, mowers, equipment, and cans with fuel additive & fuel in preparation for the next day (or as necessary)
Experience requirements:
• Must be 18+ years old
• Valid drivers license
• Reliable transportation
Qualifications:
• Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels
• Highly motivated quick learner
• Ability to lift 60+ lbs consistently throughout the day.
• High attention to detail…the customer doesn’t see what we do, they see what we don’t do that they paid for.
• Available to work a varied schedule (including Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) in any and all adverse weather conditions.
• Stoop, stand and bend for 10+ hours a day.
