Every finish in this home was chosen before the first wall went up.

Selecting finishes at the start of the design process isn’t just about staying organized. It’s how we make sure every chosen material has a role to play. The warm, weathered grain of this door invites a natural element to the soft, light kitchen beyond. Matte black hardware grounds all that brightness. Small touches, placed on purpose, so the home has dimension.

👻PHANTOM COSTS: Nobody puts this line on the bid sheet.

Take a $2M custom home with $500K down and $1.5M financed at about 8%. Every month the build goes past its due date costs you around $10,000 in interest alone.

Run a year late and that’s roughly $150K in interest and taxes. Then add another year of the mortgage or rent on the place you can’t move out of yet.

That comes to about $300,000 for a project that ran long.

Open Book Building means talking about the schedule as honestly as the budget, because on a custom build, time is money.

As Hurricane Isaias heads for the Gulf Coast, our hearts and prayers are with every family in its path. 🙏

This is the part of a home you’ll never see once it’s finished, and it’s the part that matters most on a night like tonight. In South Louisiana, a home has to be built for storms. That means engineered roof framing, metal connectors at the joints, fully sheathed walls and a roof system tied together from the top plate up.
