A couple years ago, I fell 25 feet from a tree and God protected me from serious injury - just 3 cracked ribs and a slightly collapsed lung. This morning, Cody Sorenson, a much more experienced and talented climber did everything right, and the two branches his climbing line was hanging on both broke, though he tested them with a much heavier person before ascending. He fell 40 feet, woke up in the hospital. He was discharged today, with NO BROKEN BONES a concussion, bruising, and a few stitches over his left eye from his safety glasses. He did everything right. and was wearing his helmet but stuff happens. I spoke with Tony Collins, of Collins Tree Service in the WinnDixie this week. His wife is his only crew. He said he gave up climbing about 4 years ago, when he turned 70. Said he is getting lazy. I laughed out loud, knowing my 59th birthday is this month, and I am outsourcing more of my climbing to Cody so I don't have to climb. God is good. I attended a memorial in Texas a few months ago for Chris Thompson, a chimney guy who fell from a 2 story roof. When we work dangerous jobs, it is easier to remember how much we rely on God to keep us safe. Shalom
