Finally pulled the trigger on some new boots. These have a safety toe, EH rated to 18KV, and level 2 chainsaw rated straight from Germany. No expense spared on protective gear. I’ve always been a guy that says “what if” and I try to solve any problem before it even happens, this is just a small example of the preventative steps I take. Can’t wait to get them broken in!

Just one of the trees I was tasked with taking down in a large project that should keep me occupied all winter. Lots of fun and interesting scenarios to look forward to on this project, no day of work will be like the last and I love it!

As always, I’ve been really slacking on posting projects that I’ve completed this year. It’s been a great year and it’s still busy nearing the finish line. I will post some stuff from throughout the season when I slow down a bit for the winter, but here’s a few pictures from a critter encounter on the job! He was a fierce beast!

I’ve been terrible about posting any projects lately. It’s been a busy year!

Here’s one I finished up this week. This client had one of these poplars break off and land on the roof of one of his places and decided enough was enough. The tallest of these had a head sized cavity carved out by woodpeckers at about midway and the tree had lean and weight primarily toward their home. They also have a beautiful lawn with irrigation system.

I began by flagging all of the sprinkler heads near the work zone to aid in avoidance and utilized every yard mat I have at my disposal to protect the lawn from equipment damage. Each tree top and almost every piece of timber was roped down in a controlled manner to avoid divots in the lawn. It was very time consuming, but I could feel the client’s deep concern for the wellbeing of their lawn so this was the only route I was willing to take. Everything went smoothly throughout the project and I’m very happy with the end results. They opted to have two of the stumps cut low to be ground out later and the other four were cut near eye level and left standing to continue to serve as firewood racks.

This customer was a pleasure to work for and the finished product left me with a great sense of pride!

Today’s progress on clearing some boxelder trees from along a garage. Got a few left to finish in the morning along with cleanup.

Another emergency tree on house call. Sure to be more to come if the wind picks up and we start getting some heavy snow tonight. Got everything off the house without any further damage.

Have a few more storm jobs to look at in the morning, but the most extreme emergencies usually take precedence in times like these. Reach out with anything you may have!

Tomorrow is the first day of spring! Of course we’re now getting our first really wet and heavy snow of the “winter” season. Reach out with any snow storm damage that needs to be cleaned up or even projects for “actual” spring time and summer! I’m looking to fill my project white board for the year. Be safe and stay warm!

Here was a fun one earlier this year. The homeowner became concerned after one of the main leads on this large, widespread maple broke off during a storm.

He made a wise decision to get it taken out before the other leads decided to split away as well. They were leaning towards and hanging over the cabin and the power line a good amount and he was slated to get a new roof the following week. I was able to knock it out for him and clean it up almost as though I was never there.

I learned after the job was finished that he actually planted that maple right there when he was a kid! I felt bad after hearing that, but it had to be done. While I was on my initial visit, the neighbor decided to check with me about some trees on his property and I ended up taking out 6 pines and a large poplar for him!

Quick job the other day for a customer that couldn’t get to their cabin the last time they were up earlier this year. They didn’t want me to get too fancy, just wanted to be able to get in to their place. I cleared the way and took care of the trees hung up overhead as well.

Had to let the moths out of the wallet and buy another tool to make life easier on myself.

I’ve been slacking on posting projects that I’ve finished, hopefully I’ll sit down soon and post a few.
