🍂 Fall is a great time to have your air ducts cleaned.

After running the AC all summer, dust, pet hair and other debris can accumulate throughout the duct system. Before the furnace starts running regularly, it can be a good time to get everything cleaned out.

Our whole-home duct cleaning includes the supply and return ductwork — not just cleaning around the vent openings.

Something homeowners don't always think about , your HVAC drain line can clog up over time.

These photos are from a recent service call in Bowie where the 3/4" PVC condensate drain line had become heavily clogged. When these lines aren't draining properly, water can back up and create conditions where microbial growth can develop.

This is one of those smaller HVAC maintenance items that can turn into a water leak or system shutdown if it goes unnoticed.

Quick HVAC tip from a service call in Bowie today 👇

We cleaned out a clogged AC condensate drain line, and the homeowner asked why the water and buildup coming out of the line was so brown.

It’s usually a combination of dirt and debris, bacterial/slime buildup, and sometimes rust or sediment that makes its way into the drain system over time.

One simple thing homeowners can do is periodically pour a little white vinegar into the condensate drain to help keep buildup under control.

We also use condensate drain tablets as another preventative option.

And even if everything seems to be working fine, we recommend having your HVAC system serviced twice a year — once before cooling season and once before heating season. Catching a partially clogged drain early is a lot easier than finding water around your furnace or air handler later.
