These freezing temps may cause problems for your pipes. Here are a few tips to help protect your home from damage.

• Have all outside faucets covered
• Leave all indoor faucets dripping
• Keep your house heated and cabinets open to let warm air around pipes.

Knowing where the main shutoff valve is in your home and turning the main source off will help prevent water damage if the pipes do freeze and burst when the pipes thaw out.

Are you ready for the cold weather this week? With these freezing temperatures make sure your home is too! Here are a few tips to be prepared.

• Have all outside faucets covered and water hoses disconnected and drained
• Leave all indoor faucets dripping and cabinets open to get heat
• Make sure all outside pipes are insulated
• Make sure sprinklers are turned off
• Know where the main shutoff valve is in your home, in case pipes freezes and bursts
• You can fill your bathtub with water to use to flush your toilet and refill the tank, in case of no water

If your pipes do freeze there is nothing that can be done until they thaw. Make sure the main water is shut off. If your pipes do burst this will help control the water damage when the pipes thaw.
