Changed the swing of the door on this one. Used the rectangle 6 light for the replacement. Home depot purchase for this one. Customer decided they wanted to try their hand at doing the trim. Either way, another happy customer. :)

So many tricks in the trades.. Here's one for when you're having trouble holding the siding up with one hand.. and also holding a nail to hammer.. when installing replacement J channel.. Nothing special, but its something if it helps.. Might work for a tough spot if you just cant get it.

A well-built roof overhang does more than improve appearance it helps protect the entire structure from moisture and heat.
This cutaway detail shows how several framing components work together at the roof edge:
* The angled roof framing transfers roof loads while creating the overhang profile.
* The horizontal underside panel closes the bottom of the overhang and creates a clean finished edge.
* Vent openings allow airflow through the roof assembly, helping reduce trapped heat and moisture.
* Trim and edge boards protect exposed wood and provide a straight finishing surface for roofing materials.
* Blocking and backing pieces strengthen connections and support the outer edge of the roof.
Small construction details like these play a major role in durability, ventilation, and long-term roof performance which is why proper overhang design matters in both new construction and remodeling projects.
