Here is another front stoop that we get called to raise and level all the time. I'd wager that I have probably raised and leveled at least 50 of these in this particular neighborhood. If you look at the gap under the siding of the home, you can see how far it had settled. I raised and leveled it up using our structural mortar, and now it's level and properly supported, looking a LOT better for the front of the home. Another set of concrete stairs leading up to the front door of this home needing to be raised, and they were pitched back towards the house, filling up with water and turning to ice in the winter. The homeowners stopped using them several years ago because of the hazard. They saw me working at the neighbors house, and asked for a quote. The homeowner just bought this home, and as you can see, it was in pretty rough shaped. It was cracked in several spots, and settled all over between 4" and 6". The homeowner was shocked at the $18K and $19,500 bids for replacement, and she was then referred to me. I was about to raise and level the entire driveway back to even grade with the garage floor (approx. 4" across) and also remove the low areas in the middle where the driveway cracked and settled 6", and was very hollow underneath. A gopher had taken up residence underneath. The homeowner saved 80% having me raise it, and she was thrilled to be able to utilize that money inside the home. Here is another example of the job I raise and level the most. A front entrance sidewalk that is leaning the wrong way, with a tripping hazard from being settled down, and also holding water and ice. It's truly an easy and fast repair. Most of these sidewalks are completely repaired in an hour or less, and you have no landscaping to repair when I'm finished. This front entrance stoop and sidewalk were both settled. The stoop was pitched back towards the house, causing a water issue, and the sidewalk had a tripping hazard from settling down and being uneven. I raised and leveled both back to their original grade, restoring proper drainage and eliminating the tripping hazard. I am looking for a part time laborer to learn my trade and finish out the season, which is until about Thanksgiving. To start, you will work 2 to 3 days a week, while I train you. This is an entry level position that pays very well for labor work, paid weekly. A typical work day is 5 to 7 hours, and you get paid for the entire day, regardless of the hours. This local business had a sidewalk that is used heavily by it's employees working in the factory. As you can see, it had settled down so badly that it was filling up with mud and water every time it rained. Here's another front porch that settled along the house. The homeowner was getting water in the basement, and it wasn't through a crack in the foundation, but just spilling over the top of the foundation wall. We eliminated the source of water by raising the porch back to it's original height under the siding, restoring positive drainage of rain water away from the home.
