Tio and Melvin are hard at work cutting and fitting flagstone which they will soon mortar into place. Flagstone is among the finest choices for a patio surface and it is also one of the most expensive. It requires a concrete base and then lots of skilled labor to lay and grout.

The deck was replaced with a low maintenance composite Timber Tech deck. The sidewalk was replaced with Techo Bloc Eva pavers which are more suitable for folks aging in place. The existing walk was a rustic stone that became slippery when wet and prone to causing tripping. Lighting and woodland shade plantings complete the enhancement.

A pool deck that is too small and a fence that is two close are two common mistakes that we see. Fortunately, it can be remedied with retaining walls to make the usable area bigger, then the fence is pushed back and the patio scaled to fit the needs.
