Light and space.

A severely limited material palette and hard geometric framing express Double Stick’s minimalist aspirations, resulting in a home that is at once a Zen fortress and a Brutalist cottage—enclosed, yet deeply connected to the land and climate it occupies.

Mountain Residence’s exterior underwent a dramatic transformation, reimagining the original hillside home into a fire-resistant retreat in the Santa Monica Mountains.

The home has a strengthened relationship with nature and is now coated in highly textured, black asphalt shingles that change color in the sunlight.

Double Stick Residence features a façade of bronze anodized aluminum panels bonded using high-performance double-sided structural tape rather than traditional mechanical fasteners.

Adapted from aerospace technology and developed in collaboration with 3M, the system was rigorously reviewed and validated for architectural use, allowing for a precise, seamless exterior while marking one of the first residential applications of its kind.

At the Michelle and Barack Obama Sports Complex, performance extends beyond the court and pool.

Solar tubes bring daylight deep into the interiors, natural ventilation reduces reliance on mechanical systems, and a rooftop solar array helps power daily operations.

The result is bright, comfortable, and energy-efficient spaces for students and world-class athletes.

Developed as part of an international competition, the Cantos National Music Centre uniquely combines a performing arts venue, music museum, music education facility, and a blues bar.

The proposal reimagines the historic King Eddy as part of a larger cultural armature, wrapped in glass and lifted to align with a new public lobby.

At its core, a multi-level “bridge” fuses programmatic elements into a continuous spatial experience. A central canted atrium—the Soundscape—visually and acoustically connects the building, transmitting sound between performance spaces and public zones. Clad in wood and shaped like the interior of an instrument, the space becomes both circulation and performance—architecture tuned as much for sound as for form.

Our first ever completed ground-up residential design, the Oshry Residence, is a unique two-story “compound” built on a narrow lot at the edge of a Bel Air canyon. Confronted with a steep hillside and unstable soil conditions, the design evolved into a narrow linear plan split into two distinct volumes, one public and one private, separated by an open courtyard that brings light, air, and landscape into the center of the home.

A steel-framed glass bridge spans the courtyard, connecting the two halves of the house while framing views of the canyon and sky. Beyond this central moment, the residence is organized to maximize openness and light on a constrained site, with expansive terraces and carefully placed outdoor spaces - all while being entirely dressed in white.
