Huge love to our longtime collaborators at SEAD Build in Malaysia, led by Lucas Loo, the team who helped fabricate the very first Heartburst and continues to bring each new version to life.

We start analog on purpose. Quick sketches, cardboard models, crude surfaces you can touch and test. That early mess reveals spatial and material opportunities a digital-first start can miss.

From the first lift to the latest alignment, watching 8501 Sunset take its place on the Strip has been equal parts precision and adrenaline.

The custom mesh wraps the structure, dissolving the line between billboard and architectural spectacular.

From sketch to 3D print to full-scale mock-up, 8501 Sunset was built through nonstop testing, tinkering, and hands-on making.

What emerged is more than a digital billboard. It’s a sculptural landmark shaped by curiosity, craft, and a whole lot of iteration along the way.

Proud to be part of EPICtrends & Designtex’s 4th Annual Bringing Christmas Home campaign. This year, over 200 plain trees were distributed to design firms across Southern California to be decorated and then delivered to children’s hospitals and family support centers, including CHOC, CHLA, Do Good Daniels, and others.

With its sculptural metal façade, deep balconies, and vibrant outdoor rooms, the project brings a fresh rhythm to Santa Monica Boulevard and sets a new standard for urban housing.
