There’s something deeply rewarding about watching an idea evolve from sketches into something real. This home was designed to balance strong architectural forms with warmth and livability, using natural stone, expansive glass, and layered spaces to create a quiet sense of scale throughout. Some of the best parts are the unexpected ones: a hidden game room tucked into the attic space, and a lower level designed as its own retreat with a theater, workout area, and Roman-inspired bath.

Construction on this North Georgia homestead is slated to begin this fall.

Designed as a series of gabled forms anchored by chimneys and softened with arched entries, this home balances crisp white masonry with warm wood and stone. A central window tower brings light into the core, while deep porches and overhangs extend living outward.

What has lived in elevations and renderings is about to meet the ground. That shift from vision to structure never gets old.

 I am presently designing a family compound on 170 acre piece of property. One of the structures to be built is a treehouse for the owners granddaughter. I told them several weeks ago that if I’m going to design a treehouse for her, I would like to know what she’s looking to do. So I met with my clients and their granddaughter this morning and she showed me drawings that she has prepared to indicate to me exactly what she would like. We spent about a half hour or so going over them. I told her that I didn’t want to take her drawings with me .so I took pictures of them so I can use it as a reference, I’ll reach out and show you later on, what the both of us design together. It’s going to be a really cool treehouse.
