For those who haven’t fertilized yet, you still have time. You can fertilize using a pre-emergent herbicide for w**d control and fungicide for brown patch control. Using pre-emergent regularly, at least twice a year, it will help eliminate and prevent clover and other w**d patches from taking over your lawn. Cypress Lawn and Landscaping can help you with this task, just us a call.

We will be very happy to help you with delivery and installation going into the busy holiday season. Very often the landscape takes the back seat during the fall and winter so protect that investment now.

With freezing temperatures ahead, it may be time to winterize your sprinkler system. Although it typically takes several days of below freezing temps, to be on the safe side, there are only a few steps needed to drain your system and help prevent a costly repair in the Spring. To winterize your sprinkler system, first turn off the main shut off to your PVB. Next, open the test port 1 to release the water. Open the second test port to continue to drain the system. Make sure to wrap your pipes and protect your PVB. Here is a link to a short video that shows each of these steps. If you are still unsure, give us a call and we can winterize your system for a small amount of money compared to a potential costly repair.

It’s just about time to plant some Snapdragons. These Fall/Winter flowers come in a variety of colors and do well in the cooler weather. Snapdragons need full to partial sun and can be grown in containers or added as an accent to flower beds and tree rings. They are a great way to add some vibrancy to any landscape during the winter.
