Sunbelt Vacuum Service, a leader in the industrial roof vacuuming industry, is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to oversee and ensure the successful completion of our projects. This position is crucial in maintaining production goals, safety standards, and crew efficiency while fostering strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
• Manage 25-30 crew members, including CDL crew leaders and field laborers, ensuring that each project is adequately staffed and operates efficiently.
• Conduct unannounced job site visits to assess crew performance, ensure adherence to company expectations, and reinforce accountability.
Crew Leadership:
• Supervise CDL crew leaders who oversee small teams of laborers working on roof areas.
• Train and guide crew leaders to effectively manage their teams and maintain safety and quality standards.
Safety Compliance:
• Enforce project safety protocols through ongoing training, quarterly safety meetings, job site inspections, and random safety audits.
• Address any safety concerns immediately and ensure all employees are following proper procedures.
Communication and Reporting:
• Check in daily with all job supervisors to gather updates on project progress and relay this information to scheduling and upper management.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during active jobs, informing them of crew schedules, delays, or on-site issues.
Incident Management:
• Gather and document all necessary information in the event of an accident, including photos, contact details, and witness statements.
• Report all incidents to human resource.
• Provide verbal and written warnings in conjunction with human resources for employees who you supervise.
Vehicle and Equipment Support:
• Assist in resolving truck or equipment breakdowns by coordinating with mobile mechanics, tow trucks, or repair services to minimize downtime.
Travel Requirements:
• Travel to job sites as needed, including occasional out-of-town visits.
• Conduct unannounced visits to evaluate site operations, safety and crew performance.
Availability:
• Be available for calls after hours, on weekends, and holidays when crews are working.
Work Schedule
• Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Additional hours as required for job site visits, calls, or emergencies.
• Out of town work that requires hotel stay. Hotel accommodations will be provided by the employer and per diem paid to the employee for each day of travel and stay.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in project management, preferably in construction, industrial, or labor-intensive industries.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams to meet production goals.
• Detail-oriented and organized with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to travel as needed for job site visits and inspections.
• Knowledge of safety standards and experience enforcing safety protocols on job sites.
• Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, crews, and upper management.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with industrial vacuum services or construction-related projects is a bonus.
• CDL knowledge or experience is a plus but not required.
