Please keep your vehicles locked! Several community members near NE A Street have reported thefts from their vehicles, and unfortunately, one community member had their vehicle stolen.

If you live in this area, and have available camera footage of suspicious persons or vehicles, and are willing to let our department view it, please contact our department at 503-831-3516.

No single neighborhood is immune, so we are asking you nicely, please lock your doors and keep your belongings out of sight. 💙 Thanks for your cooperation!

If you receive any calls from "Deputy Larry Gilmore," please know that it is a scam and not a legitimate contact. While Larry did work for us in the past, he's been retired for years now and would not be reaching out to anyone regarding missing a court date or owing money. Scammers use information they find online, whether recent or outdated, to attempt to gain the trust or prey on the vulnerabilities of their contacts.

We have posted about this before, but here is a quick recap of things you should be aware of when receiving a call like this:

1. Calls from our office do not appear as our office number on the caller id, so if you receive a call from 503-623-9251 or "Polk County Sheriff's Office" it isn't us.

2. Deputies will NOT call you to inform you there is a warrant out for your arrest or that you owe money to us/the courts.

3. We cannot trace these calls or identify who is calling, even if they give you a callback number. The numbers are fake or route to other countries and we do not have the ability to triangulate their location, regardless of what Law & Order and other shows have taught you. *chung chung*

If you don't need to answer your phone, let it go to voicemail. While some of these scammers will leave messages threatening to come arrest you or file paperwork to seize your assets, many of the systems just disconnect if no one answers.

A threat of action ❗️ or urgency to respond ⌛️

Long "case" numbers referenced 9️⃣8️⃣7️⃣6️⃣5️⃣4️⃣3️⃣2️⃣1️⃣0️⃣

Local numbers that you don't recognize or out of state numbers listed on the caller ID 🔢

Claims to be calling from a law enforcement/other government agency (such as the IRS) 👮‍♂️

Requests for payment to resolve the problem 🏧💲

Scammers can also send text messages, so don't respond to any from contacts you don't know or click on links 📱⚠️

Take a moment to really consider what the person on the other line is claiming and reach out if you think something sounds fishy. We hate to see our community members fall prey to these tactics!

Fun for kids today!

It’s been hot outside lately and we’d like to have some fun before school starts. Meet us at the Dallas City Park on the SW Allgood side Thursday (August 18th) at 2pm! Oh and wear something you don’t mind getting wet in 😉 We’ll also have some sweet treats for the kids🍦

In light of the current events, I wanted to reach out and let you know that we are still open & working to help all who need us.

We have updated our cleaning/ sanitization routines in our customer areas of the shop, and added supplies to take on the road with us for our mobile calls.

It is our priority to serve the community by providing safety & security. This includes maintaining health and wellness practices.

Not only are we able to serve local residents with regular security needs, we have also recently assisted residential care homes/health facilities and are aware of/ and follow the mandatory precautions needed to keep everyone safe.

We hope everyone is staying healthy during this time, and are still here if you need us.
