Did You Know We Work with Demolition Contractors?

When a home is being demolished, there's often one important step that can't be overlooked—the septic tank.

Many demolition companies require the septic tank to be pumped before the tank can be crushed, removed, or abandoned, while others need it pumped after the structure has been demolished but before the septic system work can be completed.

At W&W Septic Tank Service, we work with several demolition companies to help keep their projects moving safely and efficiently. We understand the timelines involved and are happy to coordinate with your crew to get the job done.

If you're in the demolition business and need a septic tank pumped to complete your project, give us a call!

"I Just Wanted My Septic Tank Pumped..."

We hear this from time to time, especially during real estate transactions.

The truth is, a septic pumping is about much more than simply removing waste from the tank.

At W&W Septic Tank Service, our technicians don't just pump and leave. While we're there, we inspect the key components of your septic system to make sure everything appears to be operating properly and note any concerns on your invoice.

Why? Because we'd rather catch a small issue today than have you face a major (and expensive) problem tomorrow.

Whether you're selling your home or simply maintaining your septic system, our goal is to:
✅ Check that your system appears to be functioning properly.
✅ Identify any visible issues that may need attention.
✅ Help ensure the system meets Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) requirements, when applicable.
✅ Keep you informed so there are no surprises down the road.

We believe that's part of providing quality service—not just checking a box and moving on.

For over 50 years, W&W Septic Tank Service has been committed to doing the job the right way, even when it means taking a little extra time. We treat every customer's septic system as if it were our own.

Questions about your septic system? Call or text us at 770-445-6151. We're always happy to help!

Know Where Your Septic System Is Located Before You Dig!

One of the most important things a homeowner can do is know the location of their septic tank, drain lines, pump tank, electrical lines, and other septic components before starting any outdoor project.

Recently, we were called to a brand-new home because sewage was surfacing in the yard. After inspecting the system, we discovered that during the installation of a new fence or irrigation system, the electrical wire supplying power to the septic pump had been cut. Without power, the pump couldn't move wastewater, causing sewage to back up and surface in the yard.

This is a great reminder that even a brand-new septic system can be damaged if its location isn't known.

Before installing:
✔️ Fences
✔️ Irrigation systems
✔️ Landscaping
✔️ Pools
✔️ Decks
✔️ Driveways
✔️ Or anything that requires digging...
..make sure you know exactly where your septic system and all associated components are located.

A few minutes of planning can prevent expensive repairs, unnecessary headaches, and damage to your septic system.

If you're unsure where your septic tank or system components are located, give W&W Septic Tank Service a call at 770-445-6151. We'd much rather help you avoid a problem than fix one later!

One of the most common things we hear from customers is, "We don't flush baby wipes!"

Our next question is... What about the other wipes?

It's not just baby wipes that can cause problems. We regularly find:
❌ "Flushable" wipes (they're not as flushable as the label says!)
❌ Dude Wipes
❌ Makeup wipes
❌ Cleaning wipes
❌ Disinfecting wipes
❌ Paper towels
❌ Shop towels
❌ Any other wipe material

Unlike toilet paper, these products don't break down properly inside your septic tank. Instead, they can collect together, clog pipes, jam pumps, block outlet tees, and contribute to expensive septic repairs.

The only things that should be flushed are:
✅ Toilet paper
✅ Human waste

Everything else belongs in the trash.

A simple habit can save you from a messy backup and a costly repair bill!

Why Should You Pump & Maintain Your Septic Tank?

Out of sight shouldn't mean out of mind!

Your septic tank works 24/7, but over time, sludge and solids build up inside the tank. If it's not pumped and maintained on a regular schedule, those solids can overflow into your drain field—leading to expensive repairs that could have been prevented.

Here's why routine septic maintenance is so important:

✅ Prevents Costly Repairs – Regular pumping helps keep solids where they belong and protects your drain field.

✅ Extends the Life of Your System – A well-maintained septic system can last for decades.

✅ Prevents Sewage Backups – Nobody wants sewage backing up into their home. Routine maintenance helps reduce that risk.

✅ Protects Your Property – Catching small issues early can save you thousands compared to replacing a drain field or septic system.

✅ Keeps Your Family Safe – A properly functioning septic system helps protect your home, your yard, and the environment.

Many homeowners don't think about their septic system until there's a problem—but by then, it's often too late.

The good news? Routine pumping and inspections are one of the easiest and most affordable ways to protect your investment.

At W&W Septic Tank Service, we don't just pump your tank and leave. We inspect the key components of your system, let you know if we find any concerns, and help you stay ahead of costly repairs.

📞 Call or text us today at 770-445-6151 to schedule your septic pumping or inspection.

Septic System Do's & Don'ts 🚽

A little maintenance goes a long way! Here are a few simple tips to help keep your septic system working properly and avoid expensive repairs.

✅ DO:

✔️ Pump your septic tank every 3–5 years (or as recommended).
✔️ Conserve water and spread out laundry loads.
✔️ Use septic-safe toilet paper.
✔️ Keep your tank lids accessible.
✔️ Have your system inspected if you notice slow drains, odors, or wet spots.
✔️ Know where your septic tank and drain field are located.

❌ DON'T:

❌ Pour grease, fats, or cooking oil down the drain.
❌ Flush "flushable" wipes, paper towels, feminine products, diapers, or cotton swabs.
❌ Pour harsh chemicals, paint, or solvents down your drains.
❌ Drive or park vehicles over your septic tank or drain field.
❌ Build decks, patios, pools, or install utilities over your septic tank lids.
❌ Ignore warning signs like sewage odors, slow drains, or standing water.

Your septic system works hard every day. A little preventative maintenance can save you thousands of dollars in repairs and help your system last for years to come.

If you have questions about your septic system or it's time for a pumping or inspection, we're here to help!

Today, we'd like to recognize the voice behind W&W Septic Tank Service—Joyce Willingham, or as so many of our customers knew her, "Mrs. Joyce." ❤️

If you ever called our office over the years, there's a good chance the friendly voice on the other end of the phone was hers.

Mrs. Joyce did so much more than answer phones. She built relationships. She remembered names, listened to people's stories, offered encouragement when it was needed, and somehow made every customer feel like family. Whether the conversation lasted two minutes or twenty, she always made you feel like you mattered.

And if you've ever talked to her, you probably remember how she ended nearly every phone call...

"Have a blessed day!"

Those weren't just words to Mrs. Joyce—they were a reflection of how she lived her life.

Like Max, Joyce was a pillar of the Paulding County community, and although she's no longer with us, her influence is still felt every day in our office. We strive to answer every phone call, treat every customer, and serve our community with the same kindness, patience, and compassion that she showed for so many years.

Mrs. Joyce taught us that great customer service isn't just about scheduling jobs—it's about caring for people.

❤️ Her voice may no longer answer the phone, but her kindness continues to guide the way we do business every single day.

And just as she always said...

Have a blessed day! 💙

Today, we want to recognize the man, the myth, the legend—our founder, Max Willingham.

Over 50 years ago, Max started W&W Septic Tank Service with a simple goal: work hard, treat people right, and always stand behind your work. What began as a small family business grew into a company that has proudly served Paulding County and the surrounding communities for generations.

Max wasn't just known for his work in the septic industry—he was known for the kind of person he was. He was a hardworking man, a neighbor you could count on, and someone who truly cared about the people in our community.

Although Max is no longer with us, his legacy lives on every single day. In fact, if you've ever seen one of our trucks, you've probably noticed that his name is still proudly displayed on it. We keep it there because this company was built on his hard work, honesty, and integrity, and we never want to forget where it all began.

Today, W&W remains family owned and operated, and we continue to serve our customers with the same values Max believed in over five decades ago.

Thank you, Max, for laying the foundation—not just for a business, but for a family legacy that we're proud to carry on.

❤️ Your name is still on our trucks, your values are still in our work, and your legacy continues with every customer we serve.

🚨 Is Your Drain Field Trying to Tell You Something? 🚨

Take a look at this picture...

That wet, muddy area isn't just from recent rain—it's the result of failing drain lines that are allowing wastewater to surface instead of being properly absorbed into the soil.

When a drain field begins to fail, your septic system can't do its job the way it was designed.

Some common signs of failing drain lines include:
💧 Wet or soggy spots in the yard
👃 Sewage odors outside
🌱 Grass that is unusually green or growing faster than the surrounding area
🚽 Slow drains or sewage backups inside the home
🦟 Standing wastewater that attracts insects and creates unsanitary conditions

A properly functioning drain field should never have sewage surfacing above the ground. If you notice areas like the one in this photo, it's time to have your system inspected before the problem gets worse.

Ignoring a failing drain field can lead to:
❌ Expensive repairs
❌ Property damage
❌ Health hazards for your family and pets
❌ Possible environmental concerns

At W&W Septic Tank Service, we'll help determine what's causing the problem and discuss the best solution for your property.

📞 Don't ignore the warning signs! Call or text us today at 770-445-6151.
