The Interurban Building reflects how thoughtful design can create space for new beginnings. Originally constructed in 1916 as the hub of North Texas’ public train system, this historic landmark has been carefully restored by Merriman Anderson Architects through comprehensive architecture and interior design services.

Located in the heart of Dallas, the eight-story building balances preservation with reinvention. A meticulously restored grand lobby, landscaped courtyard, and street-visible interiors reconnect the building to the public, while maintaining its architectural integrity.

Above, modern loft residences and rooftop amenities introduce a new chapter for the space. The result is a project that honors its past while creating opportunity for the future, demonstrating how renewal, when done well, can extend the life and relevance of a historic place.

A new chapter for a historic community anchor. At the Lenore Kirk Hall Personalized Learning Academy at Oak Cliff, Merriman Anderson Architects provided architecture and interior design for a modern Pre-K through 5th grade campus shaped by decades of legacy and deep community input.

Located in Dallas and developed for Dallas Independent School District, the 71,000-square-foot facility reflects a collaborative design process, with concepts refined through community feedback and voting. The result is a campus organized into distinct classroom wings by grade level, connected through shared spaces that encourage interaction and discovery.

A central entry anchors the campus, while a semi-enclosed courtyard and garden serve as both a gathering space and an extension of the learning environment. Libraries, makerspaces, and breakout areas are integrated throughout, reinforcing a balance between structure and collaboration.

The new academy honors the legacy of the original Lenore Kirk Hall Elementary while creating a flexible, future-ready environment designed to serve and unite the community for generations to come.

We are pleased to participate in ULI Dallas-Fort Worth's "What's New, What's Next" event on June 9. This year's event focuses on exploring the transformative impact of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ on North Texas and the region as a whole.

On National Higher Education Day, we're showcasing Daniel House, a residential community designed for upper-level students at Southern Methodist University, featuring architecture and interior design by Merriman Anderson Architects.

Developed in collaboration with Talley-Riggins Construction, the three-story, 51,000-square-foot building was designed to complement the university’s historic campus architecture while supporting modern student living through thoughtfully designed residences, study areas, and shared community spaces.

In recognition of National Gingerbread Day, Merriman Anderson Architects is proud to support Gingertown Dallas, one of the largest gingerbread house exhibits in North Texas benefiting local nonprofits and community initiatives.

Founded in 2006, the annual exhibit brings together architecture, engineering, design, and construction firms to create detailed holiday displays while supporting children and families affected by craniofacial conditions.

The MAA team had a great time getting to tour the AOI Home showroom.

The showroom features one of the largest collections of architectural pieces in the country, blending historical elements with modern design. All pieces are handcrafted by artisans. All of us were inspired by the unique, high-quality craftsmanship of each piece. We can’t wait for the right project to come along so we can work together.

A new standard for workplace design in the Dallas Design District. At River Edge, Merriman Anderson Architects delivered architecture and interior design for a mixed-use office environment that rethinks how people engage with work, wellness, and the city around them.

Designed as a catalyst for the district’s continued evolution, the 146,000-square-foot project prioritizes light, air, and connection to the outdoors. Open-air terraces, indoor-outdoor common areas, and expansive glazing create a fluid experience across levels, while amenities like a community lounge, fitness center, and on-site dining support a more holistic workday.

Sustainable features, integrated technology, and flexible gathering spaces further position River Edge as a forward-looking workplace, one that responds to shifting expectations while contributing to the broader revitalization of Dallas’s creative core.

A contemporary addition designed to respect and elevate its surroundings. At Bohéme, Merriman Anderson Architects delivered architecture for a multi-family community that blends seamlessly into the historic fabric of Oak Cliff while introducing modern living to the neighborhood.

Located across from Lake Cliff Park and near the Bishop Arts District in Dallas, the project reflects a careful balance of scale, materiality, and context. The hybrid structure, combining wood-frame and cold-formed metal construction, wraps a central parking core while maximizing density and design flexibility.

Amenities, from landscaped courtyards to a skyline-facing pool deck, support a lifestyle that is both connected and elevated. Bohéme contributes to the ongoing evolution of Oak Cliff, offering contemporary residential design that complements the character and creativity of one of Dallas’ most distinctive districts.

Design that prioritizes independence, dignity, and community. At Daymark Living, Merriman Anderson Architects provided architecture, interior design, and master planning to create a supportive environment for young adults with learning differences and intellectual delays.

Spanning more than 140,000 square feet, the campus is organized around 28 residential cottages designed to feel like home, with layouts that encourage both independence and connection. Shared amenities, including clubhouses, classrooms, fitness spaces, and outdoor gathering areas, are intentionally integrated to support daily life, social interaction, and personal growth.

From thoughtfully scaled residences to accessible community spaces, every element is designed to meet a wide range of needs while fostering confidence and belonging. Daymark Living reflects how design can move beyond function to create environments where residents can live, learn, and thrive.
