Construction Technician / Carpenter
Apex Build Group – Newtown, CT
Pay: Based on experience ($25–35+/hr)
Employment: Full-Time
About the Position
Apex Build Group is looking for a dependable, self-motivated construction professional who takes pride in their work. This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can arrive on time, work independently, solve problems, and complete jobs with minimal supervision.
Our work includes:
Remodeling
Framing
Drywall & finish carpentry
Painting
Exterior repairs
Tree work & storm cleanup
Excavation and site work
General property maintenance
No two days are the same.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of residential construction experience
Reliable transportation
Valid driver's license
Able to lift 75+ lbs
Own basic hand tools
Comfortable using power tools safely
Able to read a tape measure accurately
Basic understanding of framing, drywall, trim, and general construction
Can follow instructions without constant reminders
Takes initiative when work is complete
Maintains a clean and organized job site
Shows up every day ready to work
Preferred
Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, or chainsaws
Light plumbing or electrical knowledge
Finish carpentry experience
OSHA certification (a plus)
We Do NOT Want Someone Who:
Is constantly on their phone.
Needs to be told what to do every 15 minutes.
Makes excuses instead of solving problems.
Cannot work safely.
Doesn't show up consistently.
Has a poor attitude or creates drama.
