Construction zones and family life don’t always mix easily — especially with a tiny infant and young child at home.

For this project, our team built temporary structural support while removing the existing slider and preparing for a new doorway into the addition. Since the support wall was necessary anyway, they took it a step further.

Instead of the typical plastic dust barriers, the crew built and drywalled a full temporary wall to help contain construction dust and make the space feel a little less disruptive for the family during the process.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes details most people will never see in the finished project, but thoughtful planning like this can make a big difference while construction is underway.

This Memorial Day, we’re honored to recognize and share a few meaningful community events happening here in Danville as we pause to remember and honor those who served. 🇺🇸

The Vietnam Veterans of Diablo Valley will host the 34th Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at Oak Hill Park beginning at 10:30 AM, followed by a ribbon cutting celebrating recent enhancements to the All Wars Memorial — a space created to honor all who served, past, present, and future.

Later that evening, the 5th Annual Mount Diablo Beacon Lighting Ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial Building downtown, culminating in the lighting of the historic Beacon atop Mount Diablo around 8:20 PM, along with a WWII-era vintage aircraft flyover.

We’re grateful for the organizations, veterans, and community members who continue to preserve these traditions and create spaces for reflection, remembrance, and connection.

There’s a rhythm to projects at this stage—and here, everything is moving at once.

The new deck is in place, crews are shaping out the outdoor kitchen, and the roof structure has just been completed overhead. With the shell defined, you can start to feel the space really taking shape.

It’s —the perfect time to start thinking about how your home could work better for you.

More space. Better flow. Elevated design.

What’s one thing you’d change about your home if you could?

Project update: forms are off, revealing the scale of this retaining wall.

A significant structural element like this plays a critical role in both function and longevity.

Sometimes the biggest transformations start with one simple question: “Why doesn’t this space work for us anymore?”

In this Diablo primary bathroom, the layout felt closed off, dated, and didn’t reflect how the homeowners wanted to start and end their day.

We reimagined the space from the ground up—opening sightlines, improving flow, and layering in a clean, transitional design that feels both elevated and effortless.

✨ The result: a light-filled, spacious retreat that feels like an entirely new home experience—without changing the footprint.
