A lot of work being done at KWQC TV6 News this week! New plants that we will talk about later, a lot of new mulch & rock, plus this incredible dry creek bed along the sidewalk that will be a great aesthetic way to manage water runoff & keep the sidewalk from flooding! This side yard was designed into a welcoming passageway with a beautiful paver path, elegant landscape lighting, and a stunning trellis accented by colorful plantings along the wall. Thoughtfully designed for Veterans with beauty, durability, and remembrance in mind. This 700 sq. ft. patio design features Reading Rock’s Legacy Elite pavers in Misty Grey with a coal-colored half-mark brick ribbon border for a clean, timeless look. We also incorporated the new Medira wall block in the color Shadow with silver bullnose caps to create elegant seating walls and gathering spaces surrounding the three cremation burial towers. Finished with benches, flag displays, and carefully planned details, this space is designed to provide a peaceful place for reflection and honor for years to come 🌿

From orchard to vineyard! We planted apples, peaches, and apricots earlier this season—and just added 3 different varieties of grape vines to complete the space! It was a windy day, but the view in Bluegrass made it all worth it 🌿

Gardening in the landscape can be very intimidating.... we get that! Here is one landscape design you might want to copy with the plants you love the most!

Use the tallest plants in the back, with shorter varieties staggered at the front of the garden bed. This landscape design might look complicated, but it is truly easy to create! The first step is to set out the plants in their white containers and measure from the center of each to the centers of the ones surrounding each plant--you want to be sure each variety has the room it needs to thrive. In this sunny landscape, we have chosen to use our Mojave Portulaca in the front, with Sunstar Pentas in the second row...Give it a try when spring arrives, and you might just find out you have a brand new talent!

Important things to do this spring!!!

Tree & Shrub Drench
Early spring is the time to apply a liquid insect control to susceptible trees and shrubs. We highly suggest using this product to protect your plants... it does an amazing job! This is a systemic - The plant drinks it up & it works it's way through the plant's body, providing protection from insect damage! This drench works GREAT on plants that the Japanese Beetles like to munch on & is also great for treating trees that are susceptible to Emerald Ash Borer. These are two problematic insects that do a lot of damage to certain plants: ash, birch, linden, roses and certain flowers to name a few. Apply a liquid systemic drench around the base of the plant in early Spring. You need to apply this only once a year for year-long protection. When to apply this product is weather dependent, & this year we're looking at mid March into mid April, or whenever buds on the trees begin to swell.
