Showers and strong thunderstorms are moving into the immediate Hopkins County area right now. Nothing is severe just yet, but these storms are very electrical and noisy as well. Heavy rainfall will be a big threat as these continue to move east-southeast across the region this afternoon. Our strongest storm we have is currently moving out of Crittenden County into Caldwell County. Local wind gusts to 40 mph with heavy rainfall are expected. Please exercise caution if you are traveling and be alert for rapidly changing weather conditions. -David F.

Showers and thunderstorms are moving into western sections of the Pennyrile area at this late morning hour. Nothing is severe right now, but gusty winds to 40-45 mph, small hail, very heavy rainfall, and lightning are the main hazards with this area of storms. This will continue to traverse the region into the afternoon. Be alert if you are outside and are traveling, and be alert for changing weather conditions.
