When is a flat roof beyond repair?

We inspected this leaking flat roof in Dayton, Ohio and found multiple roofing systems installed over one another, including what appears to be an older gravel-and-tar system beneath the existing rubber roof.

With significant leaking, deterioration, and multiple existing roof layers, another repair isn't always the right answer. In situations like this, a complete tear-off allows the existing materials to be removed and the underlying roof deck to be properly evaluated before a new roofing system is installed.

This is why a proper roof inspection matters, sometimes the best recommendation isn't another repair.

Never ignore a water stain on your ceiling!

We tracked down this interior roof leak at a home in Centerville, Ohio, to an H-clip protruding through a shingle. From the ground, you would never notice it.

Now we are going to get this repaired properly:
1️⃣ Remove the damaged shingle
2️⃣ Replace it with a matching shingle
3️⃣ Prime & paint the interior ceiling to make it look brand new

Catching these problems early before drywall is ruined is crucial.

Miamisburg was hit by hail Friday afternoon.

The August 7 storms brought hail, strong winds, and heavy rain across the area, with 1-inch hail reported just east of Miamisburg.
