to the Mollie Dodd Anderson Library at George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania. W.S. Cumby provided Construction Management services for the construction of a new 25,000 SF library and classroom building which included a library space, conference room, archives room, classrooms and office space. Some of the green strategies included ground source heat pumps (geothermal HVAC), a vegetative roof and rainwater harvesting for greywater reuse. This project received LEED Gold Certification. Thoughtfully designed by Bowie Gridley Architects.

W.S. Cumby is excited to share that construction is complete at Germantown Cricket Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The project was a renovation of 1st floor offices and basement level kitchen. The first floor offices were stripped down to studs, rebuilt to meet modern codes, and finished with new ceilings, walls, floors and trim. All equipment was removed from the kitchen and damaged equipment was replaced with new. Brand new walk in coolers were installed and the kitchen plumbing and HVAC were brought up to code.

to the Bryn Mawr Film Institute project in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. This project was a restoration of a historic theater, which was stabilized and transformed into a unique film institution - attracting filmmakers, students, patrons, and critics. Completion of BMFI’s Master Plan doubled the number of available screens and was the culmination of the organization’s twelve-year mission to protect, renovate, and expand the historic 1926 theater building. Thoughtfully designed by Voith & Mactavish Architects LLP.

W. S. Cumby is proud to share a look at the recently completed new pool and poolhouse at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, PA.

The new bi-level poolhouse features locker rooms, staff offices and a fitness center. The new children’s pool abuts the main pool and shares a new concrete deck area.

What stands out most to Mike about working here is the feeling of being part of a family, where everyone comes together as a team to get the job done. Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with family and friends—especially watching the Birds play! Congratulations, Mike!

to the Princeton Day School project in Princeton, New Jersey. W.S. Cumby completed a 48,000 SF renovation to the school’s existing library, music and athletic facilities as well as the construction of a new 46,000 SF addition which serves as an extension of the library and fine arts program. Construction was phased to accommodate the school’s ongoing programming. Thoughtfully designed by Perkins Eastman.

to the Kim and Tritton Residence Halls project at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania. W.S. Cumby provided construction management services for the construction of two new student dormitories, totaling 44,000 SF. The dormitories include individual student rooms. The buildings mirror one another and are situated on either side of an earthen berm that provides access to both levels. Thoughtfully designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects.

W.S. Cumby is proud to share a behind-the-scenes look at some of the history of Merion Golf Club, where we recently completed a clubhouse renovation.

As one of the country's most historic and prestigious golf clubs, Merion has a rich legacy, and it was an honor for W.S. Cumby Construction to help prepare the clubhouse for the upcoming 126th U.S. Amateur Championship.

From thoughtful renovations to carefully executed finishes, our team worked alongside the ownership, design team, and trade partners to enhance the clubhouse while respecting the character and history that make Merion so iconic.

This project was thoughtfully designed by Rogers McCagg Architects and managed by Becker & Frondorf.

Over the past few weeks, we had the pleasure of welcoming three outstanding students from La Salle College High School and Strath Haven High School to this year's W.S. Cumby Summer Externship Program.

As they explored a potential future in the construction industry, they gained firsthand experience in what it takes to bring a project to life. From time in the office to visiting an active jobsite, they worked alongside our team to learn about estimating, preconstruction, project management, and the construction process from start to finish.

At W.S. Cumby, we're proud to invest in the next generation by providing meaningful, real-world experience and mentorship. It was a pleasure getting to know these students, sharing our knowledge, and helping them discover the many career opportunities our industry has to offer.

Thank you to our entire team for taking the time to mentor these future professionals, and best of luck to our externs as they continue their academic and professional journeys!

to the Mansion Building, Academy of Notre Dame de Namur project in Villanova, Pennsylvania. W. S. Cumby provided Construction Management services for the exterior restoration of the historic Mansion on the campus of Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, an all-girls middle and high school. The scope of work included a complete roofing removal with slate replacement, wood and steel window refurbishment and façade restoration. Thoughtfully designed by Joseph B. Callaghan, Inc. Consulting Engineers.
