❓You know those things in life that are tried and true, worth their weight in gold, yet are often overlooked❓

✨Thats how we feel about Prairie Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius)!✨

🌹This attractive shrub belongs to the rose family and reaches heights of 3-10’ and widths of 4-8’!

☀️It is incredibly hardy and thrives in a variety of sun and soil conditions - and is drought tolerant, too! 🎉🌵

🌸Its blooms consist of white clusters of tiny flowers that are popular with our pollinator pals! 🐝🦋🐛

🍁Its broad lobed leaves turn a stunning bronze in the fall. 🍁🍁🍁

🪾The woody stems exhibit the trademark peeling bark revealing the lighter shades underneath. 🪾

The majestic Meadow Blazing Star (Liatris ligulistylis) is in bloom and the monarch butterflies are here for it!

Meadow Blazing Star is our very ⭐️favorite⭐️ plant to introduce to native gardening newbies due to their striking fuchsia blooms and propensity for attracting monarch butterflies by mimicking their pheromones! 🦋 In addition to the monarchs, Meadow Blazing Star also attracts other butterfly species, hummingbirds, and finches in the fall!

This plant grows best in medium moist soils with full sun exposure🌞and their blooms can reach an astonishing five feet in height! 😯
