⚠️ **RABIES IS STILL HERE — AND WILDLIFE AWARENESS MATTERS**

Last week, our community received another reminder that wildlife encounters need to be taken seriously. A raccoon involved in a bite incident at **Blanchard Park reportedly tested positive for rabies**.

Raccoons are one of the wildlife species commonly associated with rabies in Georgia, and an animal does **not** have to look obviously sick or aggressive to create a potential exposure risk.

This comes during an extremely busy wildlife season for **Final Trace Wildlife Solutions, LLC**.

Over the past several days, our team has also had the opportunity to assist **two different school systems** with wildlife-related concerns. Out of respect for those organizations, we will not identify the school systems, counties, facilities, or specific circumstances involved.

What we *will* say is this:

Wildlife management is about a lot more than simply catching an animal.

It is about **protecting people, identifying risks, understanding animal behavior, inspecting structures and properties, finding the conditions that are attracting wildlife, and developing a responsible plan to correct the problem.**

When wildlife activity occurs around a home, business, school, park, or other public facility, experience matters.

We are extremely proud of the work our technicians are doing throughout the CSRA and surrounding communities. As Final Trace Wildlife Solutions continues to grow, so does the responsibility that comes with being trusted to help protect the places where people **live, work, learn, and play.**

If you encounter a raccoon, fox, skunk, bat, or other wild animal behaving unusually, **do not attempt to handle it yourself.** Keep children and pets away and contact the appropriate authorities or a qualified wildlife professional.

If you are bitten or scratched by wildlife, **seek medical attention immediately.** Rabies is preventable when exposure is addressed promptly, but once clinical symptoms develop, the disease is essentially fatal.

This is the most amazing BBQ! This young lady pours her heart and soul into every ounce of her menu! With my Alpha-Gal, she even smokes the chicken separately from the beef to ensure people like me can still enjoy a slow smoked plate!
