🐝 Yellow Jacket & Wasp Awareness Post
As temperatures continue to warm up, we're starting to see a noticeable increase in yellow jacket and wasp activity around the area.
A few things homeowners should know:
✅ Yellow jackets can become aggressive when their nest is disturbed and will often sting multiple times.
✅ Many nests are hidden underground, inside wall voids, sheds, play structures, and under decks.
✅ If you notice a steady stream of wasps flying to and from the same location, there's a good chance a nest is nearby.
✅ Early-season nests are usually much smaller and easier to deal with than late-summer colonies that can contain hundreds or even thousands of insects.
⚠️ If you find a nest, avoid spraying it during the heat of the day or disturbing it without proper protective equipment. This is when many stings occur.
