Heat pumps are an incredible addition to any pool but remember they need their own circuit, typically 50A. If you want to use your pool, don’t hesitate to get a heat pump!

Here’s the startup and running load for a 140k BTU measured with my fluke t5 meter. These are great heat pumps and are a wonderful addition to any pool. Homeowners often get confused as to why they need such a large circuit compared to a gas heater.

A heat pump is essentially an air conditioner operating in reverse. It uses a energy to run a compressor to ultimately remove heat from the ambient air and put that heat in to the pool water as it flows over the coils. (If you didn’t know, an AC or even refrigerator works in the opposite sense, there is no “making cold” only removing heat)

We install a lot of these for Long Island Pool Company Blue Ribbon Pools and they work great!

Before, during, and after of a new automation install.
A lot of people get the wrong idea about pool automation setups. From how much they cost to what they actually do. If you want to control your pool EASILY this is the move. The classic timer and light switch near the equipment is antiquated. This is a recent install we did so the customer can control the spa and waterfall valves without needing to manually turn 3 valves at the equipment.

Salt generators are great pieces of equipment that make pool management much easier. They keep chlorine levels consistent by regulating the chlorine via converting salt to chlorine. It’s that simple!

Before and after of another automation unit we recently finished up. This setup had a spa and 3 valves that can now all turn, switch, and do essentially anything with the press of a button on a smart phone. Again we have a automation unit here and it gets the job done effortlessly.

Another automation job wrapped up. We install and convert analog systems to automation so that you can take control of your pool from your phone. You can set schedules and get rid of old timer equipment. From your phone (anywhere) you can turn on water features, lights, landscape lights, cleaners, salt generators, heaters, pumps, etc. This setup is and has plenty of of features at a great price point.

Before and after of a recent service change. The new code says that a disconnect must be provided outside whenever a service is being replaced for whatever reason. It creates more work for us but ultimately we need to follow the national electrical code. There are some neat benefits as well because some of the outdoor enclosures feature their own breakers which can be very helpful with outdoor power applications!
