It has been a busy year so far and still plenty of time to stay busy! We are just wrapping up one of our bigger jobs of the year. Started as a simple job being just a slab prep with only about a foot of fill for this 60’x120’ building. After evaluation and finding out the natural grade changed approximate 5’ changing the small job into a rather large job for us. You can see the change from natural elevation to slab elevation on the approach and the berm on the side.

One of this weeks projects is another driveway. Our customer didn’t like his driveway being too steep for the winter months especially for when guests come to visit. We dug out all the stump on the newly chosen path and cut it out to the grade we wanted. Today we hauled in tailings and working on getting it shaped.

A few weeks ago our friends at K&M Signs needed a little help with one of their signs. We assisted in getting the sign up at the Remax Office in Garrison. Last week we had another sign that we were asked to help out with at Hansen Sports. Here’s some picture of the signs that K&M did a great job on and some of the remaking of the platform at Hansen Sports by us.

This week we wrapped up one septic system and started another. Today we set our first concrete tank for the year on our mentors project. This is a two piece tank that I missed getting a picture of the top before we cover it. We finished the day capping the tank and laying the wire for the electrician and setting the pump in the tank. This is going to be another mound system and we will start hauling on that in the near future.

The weather is warming up and the work is starting to pick up! Our first sewer of the year only consisted of installing a tank that is only intended to be pumped out as need. We utilized a plastic tank on this job as a concrete tank was just not able to get where we needed it on a truck. The tank can only hold so much cover material so we created a small retaining wall. We also created a better drain for the run of from the other retaining wall and other run off from above. We just wrapped up today with some final yard work and black dirt cover.
I missed out on a few photos and will be looking to collect some from others to show more of the progress.

Seeding and dragging our 3rd mound that we completed. Mound #2 was completed around a bunch of other smaller projects and a picture was not taken. This is mound #3 and it is finished. Now a little bit of rain is on the way and should be growing fresh grass soon. We have some more small touches to make to the driveway and getting some top soil on the back yard to wrap up the job.

A lot of work happened today. We prepped a pole building by removing a large amount of clay before adding in our sand for the base. We used the excess material to fill in some low areas in the yard. We also lifted and widened the driveway and increasing parking space.

This week we have a Volvo front end loader in the shop! This machine was loosing coolant and it wasn’t externally. We determined we had coolant in cylinder 1 and removed the heads today. Haven’t found the culprit yet, but we will have the heads tested for cracks and get the injector cups checked out to make sure we find the problem.

We completed our first septic mound system yesterday. We aren’t certified yet, but we are currently training under another company to learn the ropes. We also did some shaping of yard after the work was complete.
