The Village of Denton would like to inform residents and visitors that we will not be hosting a fireworks display this year for Independence Day.

Unfortunately, the individuals who have traditionally conducted the fireworks show were unavailable on the requested dates, and we were unable to secure an alternative in time for this year's celebration.

We understand this event has been a favorite tradition for many in our community. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we look forward to bringing the fireworks display back in future years.

We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday!

Full-Time Maintenance Employee

The Village of Denton is accepting applications from qualified individuals to serve as a full-time Village Maintenance person. Applicants must be able to manage their time effectively under minimal supervision.

This position requires a variety of duties, including the operation and maintenance of equipment such as mowers, snowplow, skid steer, and light equipment; operation of the water and sewer systems, including wells, water treatment facility, piping, water tower, and sewer lagoons; routine building and property ground maintenance; general repair and maintenance of equipment; experience in basic plumbing, construction or maintenance techniques. Maintenance background required. Candidates must have a valid driver's license. Certification as a Class IV Water Operator and Class I Wastewater Operator is desired or shall be required within 12 months. Class III Water Operator desired or must be acquired once Class IV license is achieved, along with the required length of experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Pay range $30-$37, depending on qualifications and experience. The Village of Denton is looking for volunteers to help with a Plant Nebraska landscaping project at the Denton Community Center on Tuesday, May 12th at 9:30 a.m.

The Village received a grant through Plant Nebraska to help make this landscaping project possible. Plant Nebraska is a nonprofit organization focused on healthy people, vibrant communities, and a resilient environment through planting projects across Nebraska.

Volunteers can check in the morning of the project or contact Ross at 402-440-0626 with questions or to sign up.

Notice is hereby given that the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Denton, Nebraska, has by Resolution No. 1-1-26, authorized the surplus sale through a sealed bid on March 2, 2026, pursuant to the terms set forth:

11 Large Round Bales of Grass Hay. The sealed bids shall be submitted to the Village Clerk at 7115 Lancaster Ave, Denton, NE no later than 3 o’clock P.M. on February 2, 2026. Sealed bids will be opened at the regular meeting of the Denton Village Board on February 2, 2026, commencing at 6:30 p.m. and the said bales shall be sold to the highest bidder on their terms and conditions set by resolution the minimum bid is set at $35. The Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Do not forget about the Holiday Happiness at the Denton Community Center on Saturday, December 6th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be raising funds to send kids in the foster care system to Royal Family Kids summer camp. Come fill a box of Cookies for $10, craft vendors, a rummage table, and lunch to be served to all! Event hosted by the Denton UMC.
