Today’s plumbing repairs included replacing worn-out toilet flappers and rescuing a garbage disposal from a foreign object that definitely wasn’t on the menu!

A bad flapper might seem minor, but if your toilet is constantly running or periodically refilling by itself, you could be sending a surprising amount of water straight down the drain.

And if your garbage disposal suddenly starts humming, grinding, rattling, or completely stops working—don’t keep flipping the switch! Something may be lodged inside. Continuing to run it can turn a simple removal into a damaged disposal.

🔥 NEW WATER HEATER + NEW TOILET! 🚽🔧

Knocked out a couple of upgrades for a homeowner on this one!

🪠 Another Drain Cleared!

Today’s job: a stopped-up mop sink that wasn’t draining.

We ran our drain-cleaning equipment through the line, cleared the blockage, and got the mop sink draining properly again. 💪

A mop sink sees all kinds of dirt, debris, mop fibers, and cleaning residue—and eventually that buildup can bring the drain to a stop.

🔥 NO HOT WATER… BUT THE WATER HEATER WASN’T THE PROBLEM!

We came out for a gas water heater that wasn’t producing hot water.

Before tearing into the heater and replacing parts, we checked the basics — including the home’s gas supply.

👉 The gas meter was LOCKED OUT.

For whatever reason, gas service to the home had been shut off and the meter was locked. With no gas reaching the water heater, it didn’t have a fuel source to heat the water.

Sometimes good troubleshooting means checking the obvious before assuming the equipment has failed.

If your gas water heater suddenly stops heating, take a look at your gas meter and make sure your gas service is actually on. If the meter has been locked by the utility company, do not tamper with or remove the lock — contact your gas provider.

And if the gas is on but you’re still taking cold showers, call Renegade Plumbing and we’ll figure out what’s going on.

🔧 Today’s Job: Standard Hose Bib Replacement

This old hose bib had reached the end of the line, so we removed it and installed a brand-new replacement.

A leaking or worn-out hose bib might seem like a small plumbing problem, but those constant drips can waste water—and a bad connection can turn into a much bigger headache.

New hose bib installed, connections checked, and everything back in service. 💧

Today’s job had us tracking down and repairing a leak on an irrigation main line. Underground leaks can be difficult to spot, but the signs are often there—wet areas in the yard, low sprinkler pressure, or a water bill that’s higher than normal.

Not every drain stoppage is “just a clog.”

Today we cleared a blocked drain that still wasn’t flowing the way it should. After getting the line open, we performed a sewer camera inspection and discovered the real problem—a section of the drain line had been crushed underground.

This is exactly why we recommend a camera inspection anytime a drain has recurring issues or doesn’t perform normally after cleaning. It removes the guesswork, identifies the root cause, and helps prevent spending money on temporary fixes.

Another frost-proof hose bib rebuilt and back in service today! 💪

The homeowner had a leaking hose bib, but instead of replacing the entire unit, we were able to rebuild the internal components and get it operating like new. A quality rebuild can save money while extending the life of the existing fixture when the body is still in good condition.

🚿 Another tub drain back in action!

Today’s service call was a slow-draining bathtub caused by a large buildup of hair in the drain. After removing the clog, water was flowing freely again, and the customer avoided a much bigger backup.
