Problem: How do I put my brand on a wooden bench that doesn't have an even, flat surface? I can't take the legs off for it to fit under hubby's laser machine. I don't have a branding iron with my logo (it wouldn't work on the bumpy uneven surface even if I did). I don't want to put in more time on this by creating an inlay.

Should I leave my first rustic bench THIS rustic ooooor clean it up? A part of me wants to keep it and leave it like this as a baseline of where I started, so Future Me can look back and be like, "DAAAANG look at how good we are now compared to back then!" The other part of me wants to clean it, shape it, seal it, sell it. This IS a business, after all.

I decided what I'm going to make with my first slab! A rustic cabin bench isn't a new idea or concept, but it's something I can enjoy making throughout every part of its process. My passion for making things out of wood is specific to its functionality. I want to make something that's going to be purposeful and USED. I hope many butts will be on this bench!

Honestly, what dummy forgets to take footage of the finished product?! 🤦‍♀️

I actually messed this up pretty good. After I lasered the design, I stained the wood. The wood took the stain SOOOO DARK, that the design almost disappeared. Totally ruined. I took a hand electric planer and kept removing layers until the stain and laser design were gone, and tried again. This time no stain, just clear coat. 🤣 Phew, full recovery, and the customer was super happy to give this as an early wedding gift! 🥰
