We are lucky enough to be involved with two projects in Kenya that support children. One is the Emmanne Children’s Home which we first got involved with in 2015, and we just attended the grand opening of phase I on November 17th. These are three of the amazing kids at the children’s home in Theri Kenya which supports children who’s families cannot care for them. The home provides them with food, education, shelter, and most of all a loving family environment. At the holidays we are happy to support phase II of this amazing project which will expand the children housed from 24 to 48. The Thole Residence received the Top Denver Design Award 2018 for 'Whole House Renovation - Modern' from 5280 Home. We were honored this project continues to get such amazing recognition. Big thank you to 5280 Home for the award, and Roth Distributing for hosting such a fun party. Congratulations again to Caroline Wilding the Lead Architect on the project, and David Lauer the photographer. The home has a full feature article in the December 2018/January 2019 issue of 5280 Home Magazine. Please check it out.

What a day touring Ubuntu Kenya with Jeremiah Kuria (Co-Founder) and the Head of Health Services Emily. We appreciate their time so much. We started the tour with Cafe Ubuntu with an open kitchen (very rare in Kenya), the Ubuntu Life Factory to meet the maker Mums, touring the grounds, water bottling plant, and the best was saved for last meeting the amazing children at the Ubuntu Special Needs Centre. Emily who runs the centre and her team were a wealth of information that will be incorporated into the design and construction of the building. We are honored to support their hard work. We are thrilled to be involved with this project and working alongside Radian Placematters and Ubuntu. This project incorporates input from all the stakeholders and will be a huge benfit to the community. We are currently in Kenya to meet with Ububtu Kenya and get our local logistics lined up. We are very excited to visit with Jeremiah and his team.

Ever wonder what residential construction in Kenya looks like? Here is a new home in construction with finishing just about to start. Electrical is roughed in, metal roof is on, and ceilings are being finished. This home is located about 1.5 hours outside of Nairobi in Kahuti. A beautiful area known for tea and coffee growing. The clay screen on the roof is to protect the water tanks. Rain water is harvested in tanks on the roof for sinks, toilets, washing, etc.

So honored to have been involved in this wonderful project. This is phase I of a multi phase project by Emmane Children’s Home to provide housing and education for children who’s families can not afford or do not have the ability to do so. There are currently 11 children who will move into this new home and the new building will allow them to grow to 24. When the second story is added, that number will expand to 48. The children are all from the local area of Theri in Muranga County Kenya. Congratulations to Imani Restoration Church of Aurora, and Greenwood Village Community Church on their amazing work here. We look forward to helping with getting the next phase fundraised and built.

Modern concrete, steel and wood addition to a new home in Hilltop neighborhood of Denver. Outdoor patios created two new living spaces. Walls are formed concrete with integrated steel posts. Two floating roofs with varying heights define the outdoor dining and living rooms. Natural bluestain pine ceilings with skylights to allow additional light into the back of the home.
