The artistic side of the house.
“Shadow Strings” - the first in a series I’ve entitled, Lasting Impression.
Lasting Impression encompasses people, objects, and concepts that have made an indelible imprint on my life.
In middle school I heard that listening to classical music could raise your IQ. So, I left the classical radio station playing all night. It mostly made for non-peaceful rest, and it likely didn’t raise my IQ, but I WAS left with a lasting enjoyment of the musical genre.
I’ve always been enamored with the shape of the violin, and the sound the violin family creates might be my favorite to hear (think Bach: Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major).
There’s something about the silvery tone of the violin, the long sustained notes … different from the plucky, staccato notes of the guitar. The violin is all about drama and mood; it’s left a lasting impression on me.
