Mead Library is taking shape.

Designed for an open, exposed site, the building creates sheltered outdoor spaces that block the wind, provide shade, and encourage gathering—something the community emphasized throughout the design process.

The repeating shed roofs reference the region’s agrarian forms, while the overall composition was inspired by the murmuration of flocks of birds migrating through Mead.

From runway to workplace ✈️

Recently completed for Denver International Airport (DEN), this ~25,000 SF office environment supports approximately 180 staff and draws direct inspiration from aviation culture. Designed with enthusiasts in mind, the space features a helipad-inspired lighting element, a fuselage-like corridor complete with aircraft window graphics, conference rooms named after the planes that call DEN home, and a faux plant wall accented with model airplanes.

Beyond the thematic details, the workplace offers a variety of flexible settings that support collaboration, focus, and innovation—designed to evolve alongside DEN’s dynamic and ever-changing work style.

We were honored to attend the Grand Opening of the newly renovated Martin Luther King Jr. Library in Aurora earlier this month.� This impactful project expands the library’s footprint to approximately 14,000 square feet, transforming it into a vibrant community hub that supports creativity, collaboration, and learning.

The renovation thoughtfully integrates state-of-the-art technology, flexible collaboration and youth learning spaces, and a dedicated makerspace equipped with tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and sewing equipment — all designed to broaden access and opportunity for patrons of all ages.

We’re proud to have contributed to a design that fosters exploration and connection, and to see this bright, welcoming space now open and serving the Aurora community.

In late 2023, the building we office out of—nuROOT—underwent an extensive renovation/addition. With an upgrade to our existing spaces and the addition of 3,000 square feet, we have had more room to create and play. With a sunlight filled pinup space, open office space to promote collaboration, and multiple outdoor spaces to work and have fun. sDC has fallen in love our new, reimagined home.

Webb Municipal Building is setting a new standard for an efficient, people-centered workplace.

Over the past three years, studiotrope has been working with the City and County of Denver to modernize and consolidate their workforce within the Webb Municipal Building. The renovation reimagines this 23-year-old facility for today’s hybrid work models—introducing flexible meeting spaces, improved public areas, and wellness-focused environments that enhance both staff and community experiences. More than half complete, a community cafe and remaining floors will be finished in 2026.

At the Denver Central Library, design enhances every moment of the visitor experience. The renovation introduces a reimagined central entrance that creates a stronger sense of arrival and connection, new study and meeting rooms that support collaboration, and a dedicated teen area designed for flexibility and engagement. The new Park View event space anchors the library with sweeping views and a versatile setting for community gatherings. Now open seven days a week, the library offers a refreshed environment built to inspire and evolve with its users.
